Izabel Goulart

Maria Izabel Goulart Dourado is a Brazilian fashion model born on October 23, 1984, in São Carlos, São Paulo. She is of Portuguese and Italian descent and grew up with four brothers and one sister. During her school years, she was teased for her slender frame. At the age of 14, while grocery shopping with her mother, a hairstylist suggested she pursue modeling. She subsequently relocated to São Paulo and later moved to France to develop her career before returning to Brazil in August 2001 to join the agency Success. Her professional trajectory in Brazil was launched by agent Ney Alves.

Goulart made an early fashion show appearance marked by a wardrobe malfunction that received coverage in Brazilian news outlets. She quickly established a extensive runway resume, modeling collections for major fashion houses including Balenciaga, Chanel, Givenchy, Valentino, Dolce and Gabbana, Ralph Lauren, Stella McCartney, and Oscar de la Renta. She also participated in commercial campaigns and modeling projects for brands such as H&M, Express, Neiman Marcus, Missoni, and DSquared².

She gained widespread international recognition through her work with Victoria's Secret. Contracted as an Angel from 2005 to 2008, Goulart walked in every Victoria's Secret Fashion Show annually from 2005 through 2016. In 2007, she received a star on the Hollywood "Walk of Fame" ahead of that year's show. In 2008, she succeeded Alessandra Ambrosio as the face of A/X Armani Exchange, appearing in three seasonal print campaigns. She later featured in the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and led advertising efforts for brands like Avon, DKNY Jeans, Givenchy, Yamamay, and MAC Cosmetics.

Throughout her career, Goulart appeared on the covers of numerous publications, including Marie Claire France, Vogue Brazil, GQ Mexico, Elle Brasil, Glamour Brazil, and GQ Portugal. Her editorial work featured photography by Dusan Reljin and Mario Testino for Vogue Spain. In addition to fashion print and runway work, she made television guest appearances on Two and a Half Men and Entourage. In 2016, she led the 250-person carnival parade at the closing ceremony of the Rio Summer Olympics alongside street cleaner Renato Sorriso.

Goulart has earned various media accolades over her career. She was named among People magazine's "100 Most Beautiful People in the World" in 2007, voted best international top model by Glamour Mexico in 2010, and ranked in FHM's list of the 100 Sexiest Women in 2011. She was recognized as "Fashion Personality of the Year" by Isto é Gente in 2012 and elected "International Woman of the Year" by GQ Portugal in 2013.

Goulart speaks Portuguese, English, and French. Motivated by her younger brother's type 1 diabetes diagnosis, she actively supports charitable causes, helping raise funds for Brazilian hospitals to supply free insulin and serving as an international ambassador for the Diabetes Research Institute at the University of Miami since 2009. In her personal life, she was in an eight-year relationship with Brazilian businessman Marcelo H. L. da Costa. In 2015, she began dating German footballer Kevin Trapp, and the couple became engaged in July 2018.
