Sailor Brinkley Cook

Sailor Lee Brinkley Cook is an American model born on July 2, 1998. She is known for her work in major fashion publications and runway appearances, as well as being the daughter of supermodel Christie Brinkley and architect Peter Halsey Cook.

Cook was born when her mother was 44 years old, following conception via in vitro fertilization. Her father had previously modeled alongside Brinkley in 1979 before the pair reconnected and married in 1996; they later divorced in 2008. Cook grew up alongside two maternal half-siblings, Alexa Ray Joel and Jack Paris Brinkley. Musician Billy Joel is her godfather, whom she calls "Uncle Billy."

During her childhood, Cook aspired to pursue a career as a comedian or a professional athlete. She took dance lessons while in elementary school, though she abstained from performing in recitals due to nerves. Her entry into modeling occurred at age 15 after she joined her mother on photo shoots and was encouraged to attempt modeling herself.

Cook achieved her breakthrough after being featured in an editorial for Teen Vogue. In 2017, she appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue alongside her mother and her half-sister, Alexa Ray Joel. She returned to the publication the following year to appear in the 2018 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

Throughout her modeling career, Cook has been photographed for print publications including Vogue and Sports Illustrated. She has also worked as a runway model, walking for fashion brands such as Dolce and Gabbana and participating in New York Fashion Week in 2019.

Beyond modeling, Cook joined the cast of the American television competition Dancing with the Stars in 2019. She stepped in to perform on the show as a replacement for her mother, who had sustained an injury, which helped her overcome her long-standing nervousness surrounding dance. Cook has also spoken publicly regarding her experiences with body dysmorphia.
