Rowoon

Kim Seok-woo, known by his stage name Rowoon, is a South Korean actor and singer born on August 7, 1996. He is a former member of the South Korean boy band SF9. Rowoon is best known for his leading roles in television series such as Extraordinary You (2019) and The King's Affection (2021), both of which earned him multiple awards for his performances.

Rowoon began his training under FNC Entertainment, appearing in the agency's reality show Cheongdam-dong 111 between 2013 and 2014. In 2015, he joined the pre-debut team Neoz School as part of Neoz. He later competed on the survival show d.o.b (Dance or Band) in May 2016 as a member of Neoz Dance, winning the competition against Neoz Band with 51 percent of the votes. This victory led to his official debut with SF9 in October 2016 with the single "Fanfare."

Rowoon made his television acting debut in 2017 with a minor supporting role in KBS2's School 2017. He then secured roles in tvN's About Time and SBS's Where Stars Land in 2018, receiving a nomination for the New Actor award for the latter. In May 2019, he landed his first lead role as Haru in MBC's fantasy drama Extraordinary You, based on the webtoon July Found by Chance. The role brought him widespread popularity and the Best New Actor award at the MBC Drama Awards, as well as a Best Couple nomination. He also appeared in NC.A's "Awesome Breeze" music video around this time.

In April 2020, Rowoon voiced Branch in the Korean dub of the animated film Trolls World Tour. He then starred in the JTBC drama She Would Never Know, which aired in January 2021. Rowoon subsequently played the male lead in the 2021 historical drama The King's Affection, winning the Best New Actor award at the KBS Drama Awards. Later that year, he co-hosted the 2021 KBS Song Festival alongside Cha Eun-woo and Kim Seol-hyun. In 2022, he starred as Choi Joon-woong in the MBC fantasy drama Tomorrow.

Rowoon starred in JTBC's fantasy drama Destined with You in 2023. During its run, FNC Entertainment announced his departure from SF9 to focus on acting while remaining under the agency. He next starred in the KBS2 historical drama The Matchmakers, winning the Popularity Award and Top Excellence Award at the 2023 KBS Drama Awards. In July 2024, it was reported that he would star in the upcoming historical drama Takryu. On March 2, 2025, Rowoon was invited to the 97th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

Rowoon has also maintained an active presence as a commercial model. In 2020, he became a brand ambassador for cosmetics brand Klavuu, Gong Cha Korea, and The North Face's White Label collection. He secured further endorsements with Estée Lauder, SimplyO hair products, Clean Up Beauty, and ANDZ across 2021 and 2022. Derma-skincare brand Ilso selected him as an advertising model in 2023, followed by appointments for Isoi Japan, Samjin Pharmaceuticals' healthcare brand Wisi Healthy, and Oligio Thailand in 2024.
