About Quavo
Quavious Keyate Marshall, known professionally as Quavo, is an American rapper and record producer. He is best known as the frontman of the hip-hop group Migos, which he formed alongside his nephew Takeoff and their friend Offset. Outside of the group, Marshall has achieved commercial success as a solo artist and featured performer, appearing on several top-ten singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, including DJ Khaled's chart-topping song "I'm the One."
Born on April 2, 1991, in Athens, Georgia, Marshall was raised in suburban Gwinnett County alongside Takeoff and Offset by his mother following his father's death when Marshall was five years old. He attended Berkmar High School, where he served as the starting quarterback for the football team during his 2009 senior season. Although he dropped out of high school months prior to graduation, Marshall announced in May 2020 that he had officially completed his high school education.
Marshall co-founded the group originally called Polo Club in 2008 in Lawrenceville, Georgia. After changing their name to Migos, the group released their debut mixtape, Juug Season, in 2011, followed by No Label in 2012. Migos gained mainstream prominence in 2013 with the release of their single "Versace." The group achieved major commercial success with their studio albums, including Culture, Culture II, and Culture III. After a period of speculation regarding a group disbandment, Migos officially separated in 2023 before reuniting in 2026.
Alongside his work with Migos, Marshall established a prominent solo career. He appeared as a featured artist on major hit singles, including Post Malone's "Congratulations," Justin Bieber's "Intentions," Liam Payne's "Strip That Down," and Drake's "Portland." In December 2017, Marshall released a collaborative album with Travis Scott titled Huncho Jack, Jack Huncho. He released his solo debut studio album, Quavo Huncho, in October 2018 through Capitol Records, Motown, and Quality Control Music, supported by the platinum-certified single "Workin Me."
In late 2022, Marshall formed the super duo Unc & Phew with Takeoff, releasing the collaborative album Only Built for Infinity Links. Less than a month after its release, Takeoff was fatally shot in Houston, Texas, in an incident Marshall witnessed. In response to the tragedy, Marshall released several tribute singles before issuing his second solo studio album, Rocket Power, in August 2023. Following Takeoff's passing, Marshall became an advocate for gun violence prevention, meeting with Vice President Kamala Harris in 2023 and establishing the Spark Grants initiative in 2024 to support community organizations in Atlanta.
In addition to his music career, Marshall has pursued acting and sports ventures. He made television appearances on series such as Atlanta, Star, Black-ish, Ballers, and Narcos: Mexico, and starred in the feature films Savage Salvation and Praise This. He participated in several NBA All-Star Celebrity Games, winning the MVP award in 2018, and became a partial owner of the FCF Glacier Boyz in the Fan Controlled Football League.
