Pokimane

Imane Anys, professionally known as Pokimane, is a Moroccan-Canadian live streamer, YouTuber, and digital creator currently based in California. She gained widespread recognition through her video game broadcasts and commentary on Twitch, particularly involving titles such as Valorant and Fortnite. She is also recognized as a co-founding member of the online entertainment group OfflineTV. As of June 2026, she stands as the platform's most-followed female broadcaster and ranks 16th overall, boasting over 9.46 million followers.

Anys was born in Morocco on May 14, 1996, and has Berber ancestral roots. At age four, she relocated with her academic parents to Quebec, Canada, and was subsequently raised in Ontario. Raised multilingual, her primary language is French, while she also acquired English at school and maintains a developing proficiency in Moroccan Arabic. During middle school, she developed an interest in online multiplayer titles like MapleStory and Endless Online. She initially attended McMaster University to pursue a degree in chemical engineering, but chose to leave her studies to focus entirely on her internet career.

Her broadcasting path began in late 2013 on a low-cost computer following her attainment of Platinum rank in League of Legends, utilizing a screen name combining Pokémon with her first name. Her platform presence expanded rapidly in 2017, earning her the Shorty Award for Best Twitch Streamer. Over the following years, she expanded her content into Fortnite, participating in Epic Games' 2018 E3 pro-am tournament alongside basketball player Josh Hart and eventually receiving an official custom in-game emote in 2020. Twitch subsequently selected her for ambassador roles, creator educational programs, and multi-year exclusive broadcasting contracts.

Beyond general gaming, Anys has participated in notable public collaborations and civic initiatives. In late 2020, she joined political figures Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar for a high-profile get-out-the-vote broadcast, and in late 2024 she co-hosted a stream featuring Senator Bernie Sanders in support of Kamala Harris. She earned a spot on the 2021 Forbes 30 Under 30 list within the gaming category. Although she stated in early 2024 that she intended to step away from Twitch over platform policy concerns, she ultimately maintained an active broadcasting presence.

Anys has operated several specialized YouTube channels over her career, including dedicated hubs for edited highlights, full broadcast archives, personal vlogs, and ASMR content, though she formally ceased creating ASMR videos in 2021. Within OfflineTV, she collaborated on group content until announcing her formal departure from the main roster in May 2023, while retaining an ongoing affiliation with the collective.

Outside of live streaming, Anys has engaged in numerous commercial and media enterprises. She joined the gaming apparel brand Cloak as a partner and creative director in 2020, co-founded the talent agency RTS before selling her stake, and launched the healthy snack brand Myna in late 2023. She hosted podcasts such as Don't Tell Anyone and Sweet n Sour, made an appearance at Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked event in 2024, participated in the 2025 launch of the Creator Economy Caucus, appeared in the film Free Guy, and featured in music videos for artists Bella Poarch and d4vd. In her personal life, she resides in Los Angeles, publicly disclosed a polycystic ovary syndrome diagnosis in 2024, and has spoken about her spiritual beliefs and Islamic upbringing.
