Paloma Faith

Paloma Faith Blomfield is an English singer, songwriter, actress, and television personality born on 21 July 1981 in Hackney, London. Her parents separated when she was two years old, and she was raised by her mother in Stoke Newington. As a child, she took ballet classes. After completing her A-levels at City and Islington College, she earned a degree in contemporary dance at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds and later completed a master's degree in theatre directing at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. During her studies, she worked in various jobs, including as a dancer, sales assistant, life model, magician's assistant, and cabaret singer.

Faith's musical career began as she mimicked soul and jazz singers such as Etta James and Billie Holiday. In 2007, she met her managers and began fronting the band Paloma and the Penetrators. After being scouted during a cabaret performance, she signed a record deal with Epic Records. Her first recognised work was the 2008 duet "It's Christmas (and I Hate You)" with Josh Weller. She released her debut studio album, Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful?, in September 2009. The album peaked at number nine on the UK Albums Chart and spawned the UK top-twenty singles "Stone Cold Sober" and "New York".

In 2012, Faith released her second studio album, Fall to Grace, which charted at number two in the United Kingdom and earned a double platinum certification. The album featured her first UK top-ten single, "Picking Up the Pieces", as well as a cover of INXS's "Never Tear Us Apart". Her third album, A Perfect Contradiction, was released in 2014 and was also certified double platinum. It yielded the UK top-ten singles "Can't Rely on You" and "Only Love Can Hurt Like This", the latter reaching number one in Australia. Later that year, she featured on Sigma's single "Changing", which topped the UK singles chart. In 2015, Faith won the BRIT Award for British Female Solo Artist.

Faith achieved her first UK number-one album in 2017 with her fourth studio release, The Architect. In 2018, she co-wrote and featured on DJ Sigala's top-ten single "Lullaby". Her subsequent albums, Infinite Things (2020) and The Glorification of Sadness (2024), both reached the top five on the UK Albums Chart, and she embarked on a nationwide tour in April 2024.

In addition to music, Faith has pursued acting and television roles. She appeared in films such as St Trinian's (2007), The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus (2009), Dread (2009), and Youth (2015), and starred in the television series Pennyworth from 2019 to 2022. She served as a coach on The Voice UK in 2016 and The Voice Kids in 2020. In 2024, Faith published her memoir, MILF, which became a Sunday Times Bestseller, and in 2025 she appeared as a contestant on the first series of The Celebrity Traitors.
