Kristine Froseth

Kristine Froseth is a Norwegian-American actress and model. She is recognized for her roles in various television series and feature films, including playing Kelly Aldrich in Netflix's The Society (2019), Alaska Young in Hulu's Looking for Alaska (2019), and Nan St. George in Apple TV+'s The Buccaneers (2023).

Froseth was born on September 21, 1995, in Summit, New Jersey, to Norwegian parents. Because of her father's work, she spent her childhood frequently traveling between New Jersey and Oslo, Norway.

Her career in the entertainment industry initially began in modeling. She was discovered during a catwalk audition at Ski Storsenter in Norway and was additionally scouted by IMG Models during a local mall fashion show in New Jersey. Throughout her modeling career, she has worked with prominent brands such as Prada, Armani, Miu Miu, and H&M.

Froseth transitioned into acting after a casting director came across her photos and suggested she audition for a film adaptation of John Green's novel Looking for Alaska. In 2016, she was cast in the pilot for a potential series adaptation of Let the Right One In. She made her feature film debut in the 2017 movie Rebel in the Rye.

Her acting career expanded in 2018 with supporting roles in two Netflix films, Sierra Burgess Is a Loser and Apostle, as well as an appearance in the Sky miniseries The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair. In October 2018, John Green announced that Froseth had been selected to play the main character, Alaska Young, in Hulu's eight-episode miniseries adaptation of Looking for Alaska, which released in 2019. That same year, she appeared in the drama film The Assistant.

In subsequent years, Froseth continued to secure major roles across television and film. She starred in the 2021 Amazon Prime Video movie Birds of Paradise, directed by Sarah Adina Smith. In 2022, she portrayed young Betty Ford in the Showtime series The First Lady and starred as Coby Rae Dellum in the second season premiere of the FX on Hulu series American Horror Stories. Her 2022 film credits include leading roles in Lena Dunham's comedy Sharp Stick and Daniel Goldhaber's action-thriller How to Blow Up a Pipeline.

In June 2022, Froseth was cast as the lead role of Nan St. George in the Apple TV+ series The Buccaneers, which aired in 2023. Her later projects include a supporting role in the 2024 film Oh, Canada.
