Kevin Federline

Kevin Earl Federline, born March 21, 1978, is an American dancer, actor, and DJ. He gained widespread public recognition through his marriage to singer Britney Spears, which led to a highly publicized custody battle following their divorce. Beyond his personal life, Federline has pursued a career spanning dance, television, professional wrestling appearances, music, DJing, and writing.

Federline was born in Fresno, California, to Mike Federline, a car mechanic, and Julie Federline, a former bank teller. His parents divorced when he was eight years old, leading him to live briefly in Carson City, Nevada, before returning to Fresno at age 11 to live with his father. He dropped out of high school in the ninth grade, later earning a General Educational Development certificate, and initially worked delivering pizzas.

In 1996, Federline moved to Los Angeles to pursue a dance career, beginning with the nonprofit organization Dance Empowerment. Over the following years, he worked as a backup dancer for prominent musical artists, including Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Aaliyah, Destiny's Child, Pink, and LFO. He also performed in music videos, television series such as Nikki, The Drew Carey Show, and Will & Grace, and the 2004 dance drama film You Got Served.

In 2005, Federline and Spears starred in the UPN reality series Britney & Kevin: Chaotic, earning him a Teen Choice Award nomination. He subsequently expanded into modeling, appearing in L'uomo Vogue and for Blue Marlin's Five Star Vintage clothing line. In 2006, he released his debut music album, Playing with Fire, alongside singles such as PopoZão and Lose Control. That same year, he participated in a storyline with World Wrestling Entertainment, culminating in a televised match against WWE Champion John Cena on Raw. He went on to make guest appearances on television shows like CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and One Tree Hill, as well as a 2007 Nationwide insurance Super Bowl commercial.

In the 2010s, Federline transitioned toward reality television and DJing. He appeared on weight-loss programs including Celebrity Fit Club in 2010 and Excess Baggage in Australia. As a DJ, he performed at clubs across California, Arizona, Texas, Washington, and New Jersey. In 2016, he released the single Hollywood with Crichy Crich and worked on producing music for other artists. He also appeared in a Jack in the Box commercial and participated in a televised family interview on Australia's 60 Minutes in 2022.

In October 2025, Federline published a memoir titled You Thought You Knew, detailing his personal experiences, career, and life raising his children.

Federline's personal life includes two children with his former fiancée, actress Shar Jackson. Following his separation from Jackson, he married Britney Spears in 2004, with whom he has two sons. After Spears filed for divorce in late 2006, Federline was awarded sole legal and physical custody of their children in 2008. In 2013, he married former volleyball player Victoria Prince, with whom he has two daughters. In 2023, Federline and his family relocated to Hawaii.
