HyunA

Kim Hyun-ah, born June 6, 1992, and known professionally as Hyuna, is a South Korean singer-songwriter, rapper, and model. She first gained prominence as a member of the girl group Wonder Girls before departing to join the girl group 4Minute. In 2010, she launched a solo career centered on performance-oriented music, establishing herself as a prominent musical artist and performer in South Korea.

Hyuna was born in Seodaemun District, Seoul, South Korea. She attended Choongam Middle School and Korea High School of Music and Arts, later graduating from Konkuk University with a degree in Contemporary Arts through special admission. In 2006, she entered the music industry under JYP Entertainment as the main rapper of Wonder Girls, debuting with the mini album The Wonder Begins in February 2007. After participating in the group's early television projects and co-hosting Show! Music Core, she was removed from the group by her parents in July 2007 due to health concerns, including chronic gastroenteritis and fainting spells. She subsequently joined Cube Entertainment in 2008 and debuted with 4Minute in June 2009 with the single "Hot Issue."

Alongside her work with 4Minute, Hyuna engaged in numerous collaborations and solo endeavors. In 2009, she appeared on tracks with artists such as Lee Gi-kwang, Navi, and Brave Brothers, and participated in Samsung's promotional unit Anycall Dream Team Girl Group. She launched her official solo career in January 2010 with the single "Change," which reached number two on South Korea's Gaon Digital Chart. Her early television appearances included a regular role on the variety show Invincible Youth and a cameo in the 2010 thriller film Midnight FM.

In 2011, Hyuna achieved broader global recognition with her first extended play, Bubble Pop!. Its title track sold over three million digital copies, making her the first female K-pop solo artist to cross 100 million views on a single YouTube video. Later that year, she formed the duo Trouble Maker with Hyunseung. In 2012, Hyuna appeared in Psy's viral music video for "Gangnam Style" and featured in its female version, "Oppa Is Just My Style." She followed this with her second extended play, Melting, featuring the single "Ice Cream," and joined the project group Dazzling Red. Subsequent solo extended plays, A Talk (2014) and A+ (2015), yielded the hit singles "Red" and "Roll Deep."

Following 4Minute's disbandment in mid-2016, Hyuna renewed her contract with Cube Entertainment and released her fifth extended play, A'wesome, supported by her first concert tour, The Queen's Back. She debuted in the sub-unit Triple H in 2017 alongside Pentagon members Hui and E'Dawn, and released the extended play Following and the single "Lip & Hip." In 2018, Hyuna departed Cube Entertainment following internal conflicts after confirming her personal relationship with E'Dawn. She signed with Psy's label P Nation in early 2019, releasing the digital single "Flower Shower," followed by the extended plays I'm Not Cool (2021) and Nabillera (2022), as well as a duet EP 1+1=1 with Dawn.

After leaving P Nation in August 2022, Hyuna signed an exclusive contract with At Area in November 2023. Her subsequent career announcements included her ninth extended play, Attitude, in May 2024, and a single titled Mrs. Nail scheduled for April 2025.
