Georgie Henley

Georgina Helen Henley is an English actress who gained international recognition as a child performer. She is best known for portraying Lucy Pevensie in the film adaptation series The Chronicles of Narnia from 2005 to 2010. The franchise earned more than 1.5 billion dollars worldwide and brought her multiple accolades, including critic nods and an Empire Award nomination.

Born on 9 July 1995 in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, Henley is the daughter of Helen and Mike Henley. She grew up with two older sisters, Rachael and Laura. She attended Moorfield School for Girls and Bradford Grammar School before studying English at the University of Cambridge.

Henley made her screen debut in the 2005 film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, which grossed over 745 million dollars globally. Her older sister Rachael portrayed the older version of her character in the film. Henley reprised her role in the sequels Prince Caspian in 2008 and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader in 2010. Around this time, she portrayed young Jane Eyre in a 2006 BBC miniseries and performed in stage productions such as Babes in the Wood with Upstagers' Theatre Group and We Will Rock You at her school.

Henley transitioned into adult roles with the 2014 crime drama thriller Perfect Sisters, playing a teenager involved in her mother's death. In 2015, she starred as Mary Warren in the independent mystery film The Sisterhood of Night, earning praise for her performance. She later appeared in the 2016 film Access All Areas as Nat.

During her time at Cambridge, Henley performed extensively in student stage productions, including Play It Again, Sam, The Penelopiad, The Trojan Women, A Clockwork Orange, Skylight, Girl, Interrupted, and Swallow. She performed at the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe Festival with Cambridge Shortlegs and co-directed stage projects such as Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and After Seymour, which she also co-wrote. In 2015, she wrote and directed her first short film, TIDE, centered on a young lesbian couple.

Henley starred as Margaret Tudor in the historical television series The Spanish Princess from 2019 to 2020. In 2019, she was cast in a Game of Thrones prequel pilot that HBO ultimately did not pick up. She also published a poetry pamphlet titled Amphibian in 2022.

Henley lives in London, England. She identifies as queer and bisexual, and has been a supporter of the orphan charity SOS Children's Villages since 2012. Early in her university studies at Cambridge, she survived a life-threatening case of necrotising fasciitis.
