Chungha

Kim Chung-ha (born Kim Chan-mi on February 9, 1996), known mononymously as Chung Ha, is a South Korean singer, dancer, and choreographer. She first came to public attention after placing fourth on the Mnet reality survival show Produce 101, which led to her debut as a member of the project girl group I.O.I in 2016. Following the group's dissolution in early 2017, she established a successful career as a solo artist.

Born in Seoul, she lived in Dallas, Texas, for eight years under her English name Annie Kim before returning to South Korea to pursue singing. Fluent in both English and Korean, she graduated from Sejong University with a degree in dance. Prior to debuting, she trained for three years and had been dancing for six to seven years, auditioning for YG Entertainment and training at JYP Entertainment before joining MNH Entertainment.

After debuting with I.O.I's mini-album Chrysalis in May 2016, Chung Ha created the choreography for the group's unit single "Whatta Man," which peaked at number two on the Gaon Digital and Album Charts. During this period, she appeared on the drama Entourage, joined the dance show Hit The Stage, and participated in various musical collaborations. Following I.O.I's conclusion, she launched her solo career in June 2017 with the extended play Hands on Me and its lead track "Why Don't You Know." She also served as a broadcast host for shows including Ah! Sunday – A Running Miracle, Please Take Care of My Vanity, and her own reality program, Chung Ha's Free Month.

Chung Ha expanded her career in 2018 with the extended plays Offset and Blooming Blue, along with project singles such as Station Young's "Wow Thing." In January 2019, she released the single album Gotta Go, securing her first solo music program trophy on Show Champion. She followed with her fourth EP, Flourishing, featuring the winning single "Snapping," and contributed to soundtrack projects including the drama Hotel del Luna. Her work in 2019 earned her Producer of the Year and Hot Performance Award of the Year at the Gaon Chart Music Awards.

In 2020, Chung Ha signed global promotion contracts with ICM Partners and 88rising. She released pre-debut singles such as "Stay Tonight," "Play," and her R3hab collaboration "Dream of You" prior to releasing her first full-length studio album, Querencia, in February 2021. She followed with her second studio album, Bare & Rare, in July 2022. After her contract with MNH Entertainment expired in April 2023, she signed with More Vision in October 2023, releasing the single album Eenie Meenie in March 2024 and her fifth mini-album Alivio in February 2025.

Throughout her career, Chung Ha has represented major brands, serving as a global ambassador for Clinique, a brand model for Sprite Korea, and a ambassador for Dolce & Gabbana Beauty, alongside endorsements for Nike, Umbro, and LG U+ 5G. She has cited IU, BoA, Lee Hyori, and 2NE1 as her primary musical influences. Active in philanthropy, she is a member of the Green Noble Club for making substantial donations to the Green Umbrella Children's Foundation to support pediatric medical expenses and low-income families.
