Bob the Drag Queen

Christopher Delmar Caldwell, who performs under the names Caldwell Tidicue and Bob the Drag Queen, is an American drag entertainer, actor, stand-up comedian, podcaster, author, and television personality. Born on June 22, 1986, he achieved widespread recognition after competing in and winning the eighth season of the reality television series RuPaul's Drag Race.

Raised primarily in Clayton County, Georgia, by his mother, Martha Caldwell, he lived in various locations across Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi during his youth. He gained early exposure to drag entertainment at his mother's venue in Columbus, Georgia. After attending Morrow High School, he pursued theatrical studies at Columbus State University. At age 22, he relocated to New York City to pursue acting and comedy, initially spending several years working in children's theater.

Caldwell began his drag career in 2009 under the initial stage name Kittin Withawhip, focusing on stand-up comedy and lip-sync performances. He officially adopted the moniker Bob the Drag Queen in 2013. In 2016, he joined the cast of RuPaul's Drag Race season eight, winning three main challenges during the competition. He ultimately earned the title of America's Next Drag Superstar alongside a $100,000 grand prize.

Following his reality television victory, Caldwell expanded his career with roles in series such as High Maintenance, Tales of the City, and A Black Lady Sketch Show. Beginning in 2020, he co-hosted the HBO reality series We're Here alongside fellow drag performers Eureka O'Hara and Shangela. He launched the podcast Sibling Rivalry with Monét X Change in 2018 and appeared in the actual-play series Dungeons and Drag Queens. He also competed on the third season of The Traitors before co-hosting its official companion podcast.

In theatrical and live touring projects, Caldwell portrayed Belize in a 2018 production of Angels in America, performed in the Black drag showcase Nubia, and co-headlined the Sibling Rivalry Live! tour. He served as an emcee during Madonna's 2023–2024 Celebration Tour and made his Broadway debut in Moulin Rouge! The Musical in early 2026.

Beyond stage performance, Caldwell co-founded the activist event Black Queer Town Hall, released music singles, and established his production company, Purse First Studios. In 2025, his debut novel, Harriet Tubman: Live in Concert, reached The New York Times Best Seller list. He also released the stand-up comedy special This Is Wild on Hulu in 2026.
