Anne Curtis

Anne Ojales Curtis-Smith is a Filipino actress, television host, singer, and businesswoman. Born on 17 February 1985 in Yarrawonga, Victoria, Australia, she is recognized as one of the most successful and highest-paid Filipino actresses of her generation. Her film productions have collectively earned ₱1.87 billion, making her one of the highest-grossing Filipino box office stars of all time. Over the course of her career, she has received two FAMAS Awards, two Metro Manila Film Festival Awards, a Luna Award, and four Box Office Entertainment Awards.

Curtis was born to an Australian lawyer father and a Filipina mother of Chinese and Spanish ancestry. In 1997, at 11 years old, she visited her mother's relatives in the Philippines with her family. During the trip, a talent scout approached her to enter a children's beauty pageant. With her mother's support, she explored opportunities in the entertainment industry, and her family ultimately decided to settle permanently in the Philippines. Facing a language barrier, Curtis enrolled in language classes to learn Tagalog.

At age 12, Curtis made her film debut in the fantasy drama Magic Kingdom: Ang Alamat ng Damortis (1997). She signed with Viva Films and GMA Network, making her television debut in Ikaw na Sana and appearing in the teen-oriented show T.G.I.S. Between 1998 and 2003, she appeared in various supporting television and film roles. In 2004, Curtis moved to ABS-CBN, starring in the drama Hiram and joining the show ASAP as a host and performer.

Curtis achieved her career breakthrough in 2005 playing the titular character in the fantasy drama series Kampanerang Kuba. She subsequently took on starring roles in films such as All About Love, Ang Cute ng Ina Mo!, and When Love Begins. In 2008, she won the Metro Manila Film Festival Award for Best Actress for her performance in Baler and starred in the fantasy series Dyosa. In 2009, she joined the long-running noontime variety show It's Showtime as a co-host. She also ventured into music, releasing her platinum-certified debut album, Annebisyosa, in 2011.

Curtis expanded her filmography with critically and commercially successful projects, winning a Luna Award for In Your Eyes (2010) and a FAMAS Award for Best Actress for No Other Woman (2011). She staged solo concert tours in 2012 and 2014, and released further studio albums in 2014 and 2016. In 2018, Curtis earned widespread acclaim for her roles in the romantic drama Sid & Aya: Not a Love Story and the action thriller BuyBust, receiving a double Best Actress nomination at the 42nd Gawad Urian Awards. Her 2019 comedy film The Mall, The Merrier! grossed ₱323 million, becoming her highest-grossing film.

Beyond entertainment, Curtis was appointed as a Celebrity Advocate by UNICEF Philippines in 2015 and became its National Goodwill Ambassador in 2019. Following a brief hiatus in 2020 to focus on pregnancy and married life, she returned to It's Showtime in 2022. She later starred in the 2025 series It's Okay to Not Be Okay and the 2026 film The Loved One. In 2024, Curtis was honored with a Madame Tussauds wax figure in Hong Kong.
