VanossGaming

Evan Fong, born May 31, 1992, is a Canadian internet personality and musician better known by his online alias VanossGaming. He gained wide recognition on YouTube for producing fast-paced montage and commentary videos featuring gameplay from titles such as Grand Theft Auto V, Call of Duty, and Garry's Mod. Through frequent collaborations with a close group of fellow content creators, Fong established himself as a prominent figure within online gaming commentary culture during the 2010s.

Raised in Toronto, Ontario, Fong is of Chinese and Korean heritage. During his youth, he played ice hockey competitively for several years, competing as a forward in the Ontario Junior Hockey League across four different teams. He completed his secondary education at Richmond Hill High School and subsequently enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania to study economics. However, during his second year of university, he chose to leave higher education to pursue video creation on YouTube as a full-time career.

Fong created his primary channel in September 2011, selecting a handle inspired by a BMW automobile component that his father had used for a console gaming username. Early in his online trajectory, he affiliated with the multi-channel network Machinima, consistently drawing high viewership before switching to the network Jetpak in 2015. That same year, he debuted an owl-themed emblem derived from his Grand Theft Auto Online avatar. His content structure relies on heavily edited highlights and comedic group banter recorded during gaming sessions, deliberately omitting uninteresting segments while keeping his personal face hidden.

Beyond video production, Fong expanded into business ventures and external media projects. In 2013, he co-founded 3Blackdot, an entertainment studio and marketing firm that launched games such as Zombie Killer Squad and Dead Realm, while also co-producing cinematic works including the film Queen & Slim. He also co-founded the record label Avant Garden Records. In addition, Fong has voiced characters in animated programs, including YouTube Red's Paranormal Action Squad and the crowdfunded series Alpha Betas, alongside participating in promotional projects such as The Magic Tomato.

As a musical artist, Fong released the studio album In Pieces in 2019 under the pseudonym Rynx, followed by the album Speed in 2026. His digital content earned him several industry award nominations, including a nod for Trending Gamer at the 2014 Game Awards and multiple nominations at the Shorty Awards. Recognized by Forbes in 2017 as one of the top gaming influencers, Fong ranked among the platform's highest-earning creators, eventually building a subscriber base exceeding 26 million viewers.
