Sheck Wes

Khadimou Rassoul Cheikh Fall, known professionally as Sheck Wes, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter. Born on September 10, 1998, in the Harlem neighborhood of New York City, he was raised in a Muslim household by parents of Senegalese descent. At five years old, he relocated with his mother, Ella Kingsland, to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he spent nine years before returning to New York at age 14. He started creating music at age 11 as a way to relieve stress from a troubled childhood. During high school, he pursued basketball while also drawing the attention of a fashion talent scout, which led him to model in the Yeezy Season 3 collection unveiling at Madison Square Garden.

Wes gained wide recognition following the release of his viral 2018 single "Mo Bamba," which reached number six on the Billboard Hot 100. In February 2018, he signed a joint recording contract with Travis Scott's Cactus Jack Records and Kanye West's GOOD Music, alongside Interscope Records. Later that year, he featured on the song "No Bystanders" from Travis Scott's album Astroworld and released his debut studio album, Mudboy, on October 5, 2018.

Throughout 2019 and 2020, Wes continued releasing music and collaborating with other artists. He served as an opening act for Eminem's concert in Hawaii alongside Logic in January 2019. His subsequent releases included singles such as "YKTS," "Sadio Mane," "Losing My Mind," "Rich One Day," and "#BeenBallin." He was featured on the track "Gang Gang" from the Cactus Jack compilation album JackBoys in late 2019. In early 2021, he joined Yak Gotti and Yung Kayo on the YSL Records single "GFU" for the compilation album Slime Language 2. He later provided guest vocals on Travis Scott's track "Fein" in 2023.

In addition to his music career, Wes pursued professional basketball. After declaring for the 2020 NBA draft and going undrafted, he joined the French LNB Pro A team Paris Basketball. He officially signed with the team in May 2021, making three total appearances and averaging 1.3 points.

Over the course of his career, Wes faced several public controversies and legal matters. In January 2019, Ridge Productions alleged that he failed to pay for a music video. In February 2019, video footage emerged related to stalking allegations involving his former partner Justine Skye, which led to his removal from a Major League Soccer advertising campaign; Wes denied the allegations and no charges were brought. In May 2020, he was arrested in New York on drug and gun charges before being released.
