Owain Arthur

Owain Arthur is a Welsh actor born on March 5, 1983. He gained widespread recognition for his performance as Francis Henshall in the National Theatre's stage production of One Man, Two Guvnors, which was staged at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.

Arthur spent his youth in Bangor, Wales, where he balanced his early acting work with formal training. While studying at the performing arts school Ysgol Glanaethwy, he appeared in the S4C television series Rownd a Rownd. He later moved to London to further his craft, attending the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

Throughout his stage career, Arthur has performed in numerous high-profile theatrical productions. His credits include portraying Romeo in Romeo and Juliet with the Royal Shakespeare Company, appearing in Comedy of Errors at the Royal Exchange Theatre, and performing in Birdsong at the Comedy Theatre. Additionally, he has built an extensive portfolio working across various television projects in the United Kingdom.

In addition to live-action performances, Arthur expanded into voice work by voicing the character Lofty in the 2018 video game Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom. He was later cast as the voice of Red Leader for the Welsh-language dub of Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope in 2026.

Since 2022, Arthur has portrayed the Dwarven Prince Durin IV in the Amazon Prime series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. During production, he frequently conversed in Welsh on set with fellow cast members Morfydd Clark and Trystan Gravelle.

Arthur returned to major stage work in 2023, starring as Nathan Detroit in the Bridge Theatre revival of Guys and Dolls from July to October. He subsequently reprised this musical role starting in February 2024.
