Lucien Laviscount

Lucien Leon Laviscount is an English actor who achieved global recognition for his role as Alfie, a British banker, in the Netflix romantic comedy series Emily in Paris. Before his international breakthrough, he built a prolific television career in the United Kingdom, appearing in several popular drama series, soap operas, and reality television programs.

Born on 9 June 1992 in Burnley, Lancashire, Laviscount grew up in the nearby village of Read within the Ribble Valley. His father, a former bodybuilder, is of Antiguan descent, while his mother is of English background. Raised alongside two brothers, he completed his secondary education at Ribblesdale High School in Clitheroe, earning 10 GCSEs. Interested in performing from an early age, he honed his craft at Carol Godby’s Theatre Workshop in Bury.

Laviscount’s professional career began at age ten when he featured in a commercial campaign for Marks & Spencer. He subsequently secured guest spots on shows such as Clocking Off and Johnny and the Bomb. His UK television presence expanded through main roles in major series, including the teen drama Grange Hill, the ITV soap opera Coronation Street as swimmer Ben Richardson, and the BBC drama Waterloo Road as pupil Jonah Kirby. In 2011, he participated in the eighth series of Celebrity Big Brother, and in 2012, he released his debut music single, Dance With You, featuring MANN.

Transitioning into American screen projects, Laviscount starred in the pilot for Supernatural: Bloodlines and earned wider US recognition as Earl Grey in the first season of Scream Queens. He followed this with prominent roles as Billy Ayres in the crime comedy-drama Snatch and Alexander Cabot in Katy Keene. Joining the main cast of Emily in Paris in 2021, his recurring portrayal of Lily Collins' character's love interest introduced him to an international audience across multiple seasons.

Laviscount has continued to expand his screen credits with roles in the comedy series Peacock and the 2024 romantic comedy film This Time Next Year. He also appeared as the love interest in the music video for Puntería by Shakira and Cardi B. His upcoming projects include roles in the thriller Safe House, the film Tinseltown, and a film adaptation of the novel People We Meet on Vacation.

In addition to acting, Laviscount co-founded two hospitality venues in Kensal Rise alongside Zac Lichman: a cocktail bar and café called The Shop NW10, opened in 2018, and a dive bar called The Wealthy Beggar, launched in 2022. He has also taken part in various charitable endeavors, including a Sport Relief charity football game in 2010, playing for England in Soccer Aid 2022, and co-organizing the A Deed A Day homelessness awareness campaign, which operated a Christmas soup kitchen through his venue.
