Lily Newmark

Lily Inge Newmark is an English actress and former fashion model who has appeared in a variety of feature films and television series. She is widely recognized for her television roles in the Netflix shows Sex Education and Cursed, the Sky One drama Temple, and the FX series Alien: Earth. On the big screen, she is known for starring in independent feature productions such as Pin Cushion and A Brixton Tale.

Born on 24 May 1994 in Camberwell, South London, Newmark grew up in a family of five children. Her father, Brooks Newmark, is a former Conservative Member of Parliament, while her mother, Lucy Keegan, is an artist, and her maternal aunt is actress Rose Keegan. Newmark initially attended school in Sydenham. At age 12, her family relocated to Central London, where she enrolled at the Francis Holland School in Sloane Square. She later pursued formal drama training at East 15 Acting School, graduating in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Acting and Contemporary Theatre.

Newmark began her creative career by performing in amateur independent films as well as music videos for musical acts such as Matt Maltese, DISCIPLΞS, Rejjie Snow, and Real Lies. She was discovered by First Model Management and spent several years working in the fashion industry. Her modeling portfolio includes promotional campaigns for high-profile brands like Chanel and Zandra Rhodes, alongside editorial features in publications such as Vice and Wonderland.

While completing her final year of drama school, Newmark secured a recurring role in the NBC series Emerald City. Shortly thereafter, she landed her breakthrough screen role as the lead character Iona in the British independent drama Pin Cushion. For her performance in the film, she earned a nomination for Most Promising Newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards.

Following her debut, Newmark built a diverse filmography across television and film. Her screen credits include roles in feature films such as Juliet, Naked, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Les Misérables, Born a King, Balance, Not Symmetry, Misbehaviour, and A Brixton Tale. On television, she featured in Sex Education from 2019 to 2020, Temple from 2019 to 2021, and Cursed in 2020, later joining the cast of FX's Alien: Earth.

Outside of her professional work, Newmark resides in the Victoria district of London. In 2017, she publicly shared that she voted for the Liberal Democrats based on her personal instincts.
