Lauren Jauregui

Lauren Michelle Jauregui Morgado, born June 27, 1996, is an American singer and songwriter. She first came to public prominence as a member of the girl group Fifth Harmony, which became one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. Following the group's indefinite hiatus, she pursued a solo music career, releasing independent extended plays and collaborating with various artists across multiple musical genres.

Jauregui was born in Miami, Florida, to Cuban parents, Michael Jauregui, a plant manager, and Clara Morgado, a teacher who moved to the United States when Fidel Castro came to power. The eldest of three siblings, she attended a co-ed Catholic school before enrolling at Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart on an academic scholarship. There, she participated in the International Baccalaureate program, talent shows, and the softball team, while expressing herself through singing, writing, dancing, painting, and playing the piano.

In 2012, at age 15, Jauregui auditioned for the second season of The X Factor U.S. with Alicia Keys's song "If I Ain't Got You." Although eliminated as a solo performer during bootcamp, she was brought back to form Fifth Harmony alongside Ally Brooke, Normani, Dinah Jane, and Camila Cabello. The group finished third in the competition and signed with Syco Music and Epic Records in January 2013. Jauregui completed her high school education through homeschooling to focus on the group. Fifth Harmony released several projects, including the albums Reflection, 7/27, and Fifth Harmony, yielding hit singles such as "Worth It" and "Work From Home." In March 2018, the group announced an indefinite hiatus.

While still with Fifth Harmony, Jauregui began exploring independent writing and creative collaborations. She featured on Marian Hill's "Back to Me" in 2016, Halsey's "Strangers" in 2017, Ty Dolla Sign's "In Your Phone," and Steve Aoki's "All Night," for which she served as lead singer, primary songwriter, and vocal producer. In 2018, Jauregui signed with Columbia Records and opened for the Latin American leg of Halsey's world tour. She released her debut solo single, "Expectations," in October 2018, followed by "More Than That" in January 2019. She also contributed to soundtrack projects, including "Invisible Chains" for Birds of Prey, and collaborated with artists such as Tainy, Drew Love, and Diane Warren.

In November 2021, Jauregui released her debut independent extended play, Prelude, through her label Attunement Records. She launched a podcast titled Attunement in March 2022 and toured North and South America, supporting singer Banks as well as headlining her own shows. Her second EP, In Between, was released in May 2023, preceded by the singles "Always Love" and "Trust Issues." She subsequently released singles including "The Day the World Blows Up" and "Burning" in 2023 and 2024. In 2025, she participated in the competition series Dancing with the Stars and reunited with former Fifth Harmony members for a performance in Dallas, Texas.
