Laura Papendick

Laura Papendick is a German television presenter and journalist born on 21 January 1989. She is primarily known for her work broadcasting major sports events and news programs across several major media networks in Germany.

Born in Bergisch Gladbach, Papendick pursued higher education in Cologne, where she studied sports journalism. During her youth, she was an active competitive swimmer who successfully qualified for the German Championships. She has noted Franziska van Almsick as her personal sports role model.

Her early media career began with DFL Digital Sports GmbH, a subsidiary of the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga tasked with digital content creation, where she worked as a reporter and editor. She subsequently served as a presenter for Bayer 04 Leverkusen's club channel, Bayer 04-TV. In 2015, she moved to Sky Deutschland as a reporter before joining the Sky Sport News presenting team in 2016.

In 2019, Papendick joined the sports channel Sport1. Her roles included hosting programs such as Bundesliga aktuell, Bundesliga Pur, and Sport1 News. She also co-hosted Doppelpass alongside Jochen Stutzky and Ruth Hofmann, and alternated with Thomas Helmer as host of Fantalk. In May 2021, she moved to the RTL Group to present broadcasts for the UEFA Europa League and Formula One across RTL and Nitro.

Over the course of her career, Papendick gained professional recognition for her sports broadcasting work. In 2017, her performance on Sky Sport News earned her a nomination for the German Sports Journalist Award in the Newcomer category, in which she ultimately finished in second place behind Marco Hagemann.

In her personal life, Papendick was previously in a relationship with sports presenter and commentator Olivier Zwartyes until early 2021. In August 2021, she began a relationship with actor and reality TV contestant Alexander Hindersmann, which the couple announced publicly a year later. They welcomed their first child, a son, in June 2023.
