About Laura Henshaw
Laura Henshaw is an Australian fitness entrepreneur, author, podcast host, and former model. She is best known as the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Kic (formerly known as Keep It Cleaner), a leading digital health, fitness, and wellness platform. Partnering with fellow Australian model and entrepreneur Steph Claire Smith, Henshaw turned a passion for positive body image and holistic health into a globally recognized digital brand, mobile application, and community.
Early Life and Career Origins
Born on December 19, 1992, in Melbourne, Australia, Laura Henshaw spent her early career working in fashion modeling. During her young adult years in the modeling industry, both domestically and internationally, she experienced intense pressure regarding physical appearance, which contributed to periods of disordered eating and unhealthy relationship patterns with food and exercise. Pursuing higher education alongside her modeling work, Henshaw studied at La Trobe University, where she earned a double degree in Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Business. Her personal challenges with body image in the modeling sector inspired her to advocate for authentic, sustainable, and non-restrictive approaches to health and physical fitness.
Kic and Business Success
In 2015, Henshaw teamed up with her close friend and fellow model Steph Claire Smith to launch Keep It Cleaner, initially created as an e-book offering healthy recipes and balanced lifestyle advice. The positive reception led the duo to expand the brand into a comprehensive subscription-based mobile application offering guided workouts, Pilates, yoga, running programs, and dietary guidance. In 2024, the business officially rebranded as Kic to reflect its evolving holistic wellness vision. Under Henshaw's leadership as CEO, Kic grew into a multi-million-dollar health empire with over two million subscribers worldwide. Beyond the app, Henshaw co-hosts the popular weekly podcast KICPod, where she discusses mental health, self-acceptance, business insights, and personal wellness with high-profile guests.
