Kanawut Traipipattanapong

Kanawut Traipipattanapong, also known by his nickname Gulf, is a Thai actor and performer. Born on December 4, 1997, he gained widespread recognition for his starring role in the television series TharnType. He is also recognized for his work in the feature film Buaphan Fan Yap and the television drama series Duangjai Dhevaprom: Laorchan.

Traipipattanapong was born in Bangkok, Thailand, as the youngest child in his family, alongside one older sister. He completed his primary education at Buranasuksa School and attended Suankularb Wittayalai School for his secondary studies. He later pursued higher education at King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi, graduating in November 2020 with a bachelor's degree in industrial education and technology.

His acting debut occurred in 2015 at age 17, when he appeared in a guest role as Young Tee in the Channel 3 drama Mafia Luerd Mungkorn: Singha. Following this appearance, he paused his acting career to focus on his studies, during which he took on modeling opportunities for local Thai clothing brands and walked his first runway for Wonder Anatomie. In January 2019, he was cast as the lead character Type in the popular series TharnType, which accumulated millions of views across Thailand and international markets. He reprised this role in the 2020 sequel, TharnType 2: 7 Years of Love, earning accolades such as Rising Star and Best Young Actor.

Alongside his acting work, Traipipattanapong participated in the music project Boyfriends with record label GMM Grammy in 2020, releasing the joint single "Missing Baby" with Wanarat Ratsameerat. The following year, he appeared in music videos for local artists and starred in the Garena Free Fire Thailand promotional short film Kingkhom. In March 2021, he signed an official contract as an actor and artist with Channel 3.

In 2022, Traipipattanapong starred as Gut in the novel adaptation You Are My Makeup Artist alongside Janie Tienphosuwan. That same year, he made his feature film debut playing Kham in the romantic comedy Buaphan Fan Yap with Anne Thongprasom, a commercial success in Thailand that crossed the 100 million baht mark. He expanded his television career in 2024 by starring as Khun Phu in Laorchan, the first installment of the lakorn Duangjai Dhevaprom, while also making guest appearances in four subsequent entries of the series.

Traipipattanapong expanded his international presence in 2025 by starring alongside Miori Takimoto in the TV Tokyo series Tokyo Holiday, becoming the first Thai actor to play a lead role in a Japanese drama. His additional film work includes the movie Onethong, featuring Mark Prin and Ink Waruntorn, scheduled for release in June 2026. He was also cast as Pakhorn in the drama series Tawan Luang (Beneath The Lies) alongside Yaya Urassaya and Kao Noppakao, scheduled for production in early 2026. Beyond acting, he serves as a brand ambassador for Gucci and Onitsuka Tiger, as well as the face of Sulwhasoo Thailand, frequently attending fashion events such as Milan Fashion Week.
