Jonathan Majors

Jonathan Michael Majors is an American actor born on September 7, 1989, in Santa Barbara County, California. He spent his early childhood on the Vandenberg military base with his mother, a pastor, alongside an older sister and a younger brother while his father served in the US Air Force. After his father left, the family lived in several Texas cities, including Dallas, Georgetown, and Cedar Hill. Majors attended Cedar Hill High School and graduated from Duncanville High School in 2008.

Majors experienced a difficult childhood, which included an arrest for shoplifting, a high school suspension for fighting, and living in his car while working two jobs after being kicked out of his home. He discovered a safe space in theatre after watching Christopher Nolan's film The Dark Knight, crediting Heath Ledger's Joker as his main inspiration to become an actor. He earned a bachelor's degree at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and completed a Master of Fine Arts at the Yale School of Drama in 2016.

While studying at Yale, Majors made his screen debut portraying gay activist Ken Jones in the ABC miniseries When We Rise. He appeared in his first feature film, the Western Hostiles, in 2017, followed by roles in White Boy Rick and Out of Blue in 2018. His breakthrough came in 2019 when he starred in the independent film The Last Black Man in San Francisco, earning an Independent Spirit Award nomination. That same year, he appeared in Captive State, Gully, and Jungleland.

In 2020, Majors starred in Spike Lee's war drama Da 5 Bloods and gained wider recognition starring as Atticus Freeman in the HBO series Lovecraft Country, receiving a Primetime Emmy Award nomination. He subsequently starred as Nat Love in the Western film The Harder They Fall, Jesse L. Brown in Devotion, and Dame Anderson in Creed III. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he played variants of Kang the Conqueror in the film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and the television series Loki.

In March 2023, Majors was arrested in New York following a domestic dispute involving his former girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. In December 2023, he was found guilty of two misdemeanor counts of assault and harassment, resulting in a sentence of probation and a 52-week domestic violence intervention program. Following his conviction, he was dropped by Marvel Studios, his management company, his public relations firm, and several other film projects and ad campaigns.

Following a hiatus, Majors returned to film projects, securing roles in the thriller Merciless, the action film True Threat, the short film Wounds to Wisdom, and the Daily Wire production Run Hide Fight: Infidels. In June 2024, he received the Perseverance Award at the Hollywood Unlocked Impact Awards.

Majors has one daughter. In March 2025, he married actress Meagan Good, whom he had been dating since May 2023 and became engaged to in November 2024. In 2026, the couple acquired Guinean citizenship after tracing their ancestry through DNA testing.
