Jessica Sutta

Jessica Lynn Sutta is an American singer, songwriter, dancer, and former actress. She is best known as a former member of the pop girl group The Pussycat Dolls. As a solo recording artist, Sutta has released the mixtape Feline Resurrection and her debut studio album I Say Yes. She holds the distinction of being the only former member of The Pussycat Dolls to reach the top of an American chart, having earned four number-one singles on the US Dance Club Songs chart.

Sutta was born in Miami, Florida, to a Catholic and Jewish family of Russian and Polish descent. She began taking dance classes at age three and later attended the Miami City Ballet and the New World School of the Arts at age 14. At age 17, Sutta tore her ACL in both knees and briefly switched her focus to theatre. Following rehabilitation, she joined the NBA cheerleading squad for the Miami Heat in 1999 and became the team's captain in 2001.

Prior to her full-time music career, Sutta worked as an actress, appearing in the crime drama film Bully, playing Jody as a series regular on the television soap opera Ocean Ave., and portraying Nadine in the romantic comedy From Justin to Kelly. She later moved to Los Angeles to work as a dancer and was invited by choreographer Robin Antin to join The Pussycat Dolls. The group achieved worldwide popularity with their multi-platinum debut album PCD and subsequent release Doll Domination. Following internal group conflicts, Sutta announced her departure from the group in February 2010.

After leaving the group, Sutta launched her solo career with the independent single I Wanna Be Bad in 2010. She signed with Hollywood Records in 2011 and released Show Me, which reached number one on the US Dance Club Songs chart. Although her planned debut album Sutta Pop was canceled after she parted ways with the label in 2012, she continued releasing music through independent record labels such as Citrusonic Stereophonic and Premier League Music.

In June 2016, Sutta released her debut mixtape, Feline Resurrection, as a free download on her website, featuring previously released tracks alongside new material. In March 2017, she released her debut commercial studio album, I Say Yes. The project produced several singles, including Distortion, which became her fourth number-one track on the US Dance Club Songs chart.

Sutta temporarily rejoined The Pussycat Dolls for a reunion in late 2019, which included the release of the single React before tour plans were halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, Sutta took a career hiatus following the birth of her son with husband Mikey Marquart. Beyond her performing career, Sutta has supported various charitable initiatives and LGBT rights organizations, including appearances for the NOH8 Campaign, San Francisco Pride, and Susan G. Komen L.A.
