Francine Jordi

Francine Jordi, born Francine Lehmann on June 24, 1977, is a Swiss pop singer and television presenter. She is best known for her chart success in Switzerland and her appearances in various television hosting roles across German-speaking Europe.

As a young child, Jordi began her musical background by singing songs for Japanese tourists in Interlaken. This early experience helped pave the way for her future career in the music industry.

Jordi achieved her major career breakthrough in 1998 when she won the German Grand Prix der Volksmusik with the song "Das Feuer der Sehnsucht." Following this victory, she released her debut album of the same name in 1998.

After her initial success, Jordi became a major star in Switzerland, primarily singing in German. Her recordings achieved commercial success, earning her golden records and leading to concert tours across Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. Over the years, she released numerous albums, including "Ein Märchen aus Eis" in 1999, "Wunschlos glücklich" in 2000, "Verliebt in das Leben" in 2001, and the compilation album "Einfach Francine Jordi" in 2004. In 2011, she released the collaborative album "Lago Maggiore" with Florian Ast.

In 2002, Jordi represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Tallinn, performing the French-language song "Dans le jardin de mon âme." She also released the album "Im Garten meiner Seele" that same year and embarked on a solo tour with her band across Switzerland in the autumn of 2002.

In addition to her singing career, Jordi expanded into television hosting. She hosted two television shows for the German public broadcaster ARD. In September 2015, she took on the role of presenter for the long-running television show "Musikantenstadl."

Jordi has continued to record and release music steadily over the decades, issuing albums such as "Wir" in 2015, "Nur für dich" in 2016, "Noch lange nicht genug" in 2018, and "Herzfarben" in 2021. Her recent work includes the 2024 album release "Ein Stückchen Weihnacht - Mein Geschenk für Dich."
