Christian Malheiros

Christian Malheiros is a Brazilian actor who gained international recognition for his lead role in the critically acclaimed 2018 independent drama film Sócrates.

Born on August 14, 1999, Malheiros began performing at a young age. He initially developed his acting background through theater productions, starting when he was nine years old.

Malheiros made his debut in feature films as a teenager playing the title character in Sócrates. The narrative follows a 15-year-old Black youth from the coastal region of Santos, São Paulo, navigating severe economic hardship, grieving the loss of his mother, and confronting anti-LGBTQ+ prejudice. The movie earned widespread critical acclaim across the international film festival circuit and was shortlisted to represent Brazil as its official entry for the Academy Award for Best International Feature.

His performance in the film was widely praised by major film critics, who highlighted his emotional range, presence, and maturity on screen. For his work in the project, Malheiros earned a nomination for Best Male Lead at the 34th Independent Spirit Awards.

Following his breakthrough, Malheiros expanded into television and streaming media. In 2019, he joined the main cast of the Brazilian teen crime drama series Sintonia, created and directed by Kondzilla. He portrays the character Nando in the show, which debuted on Netflix on August 9, 2019, to favorable reviews.

In addition to his ongoing television work, Malheiros was invited by director Luiz Päetow to star in the Brazilian film Transmission. He portrayed the character Angel in the project, which premiered on September 20, 2020.
