China Suárez

María Eugenia Suárez Riveiro, better known as China Suárez or La China, is an Argentine actress, singer, and model born on March 9, 1992, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is known for her work across Argentine television series, feature films, musical projects, and modeling campaigns.

Suárez is the daughter of Guillermo Suárez and Marcela Riveiro Mitsumori, and she has an older brother named Agustín Suárez. Her maternal grandmother, Marta Mitsumori, was born in Argentina and is of Japanese descent. During her childhood, Suárez attended the Instituto Corazón de María up to her third year of secondary school, completed her secondary studies at ESBA Barrio Norte, and also attended Divino Corazón de Jesús in Palermo, Buenos Aires.

She made her acting debut at eleven years old in the 2003 television series Rincón de luz, created by Cris Morena. In 2004, she appeared in Floricienta, followed by roles in Amor mío in 2005 and the sitcom Amo de casa in 2006. Between 2007 and 2010, Suárez gained wide public recognition playing Jazmín "Jaz" Romero in the television series Casi Ángeles and its theatrical adaptations. As part of the show, she became a member of the musical group Teen Angels before leaving the band in early 2011.

Following her departure from the band, Suárez joined the cast of Los Únicos from 2011 to 2012 and starred alongside Nicolás Pauls in the miniseries 30 días juntos. In 2013, she returned to Pol-ka in the comedy Solamente vos, and in 2014 she co-starred in the telenovela Camino al amor, participated in Tu cara me suena, and appeared in David Bisbal's music video for Hoy. She later returned to television in 2019, starring in the historical telenovela Argentina, tierra de amor y venganza and playing a police officer in Tu parte del trato.

Suárez made her feature film debut in 2015 starring in Abzurdah, for which she recorded a cover of Trátame suavemente. Her subsequent film projects include the 2016 romantic comedy El hilo rojo, voice acting as Meena in the Argentine release of Sing, and starring in Los padecientes in 2017. Beyond her acting career, she launched a clothing line in 2015 featuring items such as jackets, blouses, pants, tops, dresses, purses, and necklaces, and later collaborated on the song and music video Hipnotizados in 2023.

For her performance in Casi Ángeles, Suárez received the Kids Choice Awards Argentina for favorite actress. She was later awarded the Premio Sur for Best New Actress for her role in Abzurdah, and served as an ambassador for Argentine cinema at the Premios Platino in July 2015.

Suárez's personal life and relationships have attracted significant media attention in Argentina and internationally. She has three children: a daughter born in 2013 from her relationship with actor Nicolás Cabré, and two children with Chilean actor Benjamín Vicuña. She has also been in high-profile relationships with television producer Nacho Viale, singer David Bisbal, singer Rusherking, musician Lauty Gram, and footballer Mauro Icardi.
