Caroline Trentini was born on July 6, 1987, in Panambi, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Raised in southern Brazil alongside her older sisters, she lost her father at a young age and was brought up by her mother. In 2000, at age 13, Trentini was discovered walking in her hometown by a talent scout—the same agent who previously scouted supermodel Gisele Bündchen. Soon after her discovery, she relocated to São Paulo to pursue modeling professionally, before moving to New York City to launch her international career.

Career

Trentini's major career breakthrough occurred when designer Marc Jacobs selected her for his Marc by Marc Jacobs advertising campaign, shot by photographer Juergen Teller. Her rapid rise in high fashion led to major advertising campaigns for brands such as Gucci, Oscar de la Renta, Dolce & Gabbana, Mulberry, and DKNY. In 2007, American Vogue highlighted her alongside other top models as part of the new generation of global fashion icons. Trentini made her debut at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show in 2005, returning to walk the runway again in 2006 and 2009. Throughout her career, she has walked for fashion brands including Chanel, Dior, Versace, Valentino, Ralph Lauren, and Balmain. Beyond the runway, she has graced over 40 international Vogue covers, as well as covers for ELLE and Harper's Bazaar, earning a spot on Models.com's coveted Industry Icons list.

Personal life

Trentini married Brazilian photographer Fabio Bartelt in March 2012 in a ceremony held in Itajaí, Santa Catarina, Brazil. The couple has two sons together, Bento and Benoah. In addition to her international fashion projects, Trentini continues to maintain strong personal and professional ties to Brazil.
