Brooke Lynn Hytes is the stage persona of Brock Edward Hayhoe, a Canadian-American drag performer, classical dancer, and television personality. Raised in Toronto, Hayhoe attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts before entering the National Ballet School of Canada at age fifteen. Over five years of ballet training, he worked with prominent choreographers including Jiri Kylian, Toer van Schayk, James Kudelka, and Rudi van Dantzig, who featured him as Death's Angel in Four Last Songs. In 2006, Hayhoe relocated to South Africa to join the corps de ballet at Cape Town City Ballet, earning a promotion to soloist the following year and performing principal male roles in productions such as The Nutcracker, La Bayadère, and Giselle.
Seeking to dance en pointe, Hayhoe moved to New York City in 2008 to join the drag ballet troupe Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, touring internationally for four years under the names Andrei Verikose and Vanya Verikosa. Upon returning to Toronto to pursue drag full-time, he was adopted by drag performer Farra N. Hyte and took the name Brooke Lynn Hytes. After winning local drag competitions, she entered the national pageant circuit, earning titles such as Miss Gay Toronto and Miss Michigan Continental in 2013, followed by a victory at the Miss Continental pageant in 2014. She subsequently began a performance residency at PLAY Dance Bar in Nashville, Tennessee.
In 2019, Brooke Lynn Hytes competed on season eleven of RuPaul's Drag Race. During the season, she won three main challenges and accumulated nine top placements. Her notable moments included an acclaimed lip-sync performance to Demi Lovato's "Sorry Not Sorry" against Yvie Oddly, as well as an on-screen romance with competitor Vanessa Vanjie Mateo. She ultimately finished as runner-up behind Oddly. Following her television breakthrough, she was featured on the cover of New York magazine and received a People's Choice Award for Most Hypeworthy Canadian.
Brooke Lynn Hytes was named a main judge on Canada's Drag Race in late 2019, appearing across its first four seasons as well as the spin-off Canada's Drag Race: Canada vs. the World. For their work on the series, she and her fellow judges won Canadian Screen Awards in 2021, 2022, and 2023. Her additional media projects include hosting the Crave series 1 Queen 5 Queers, co-launching the podcast Famous This Week with performer Priyanka, releasing the musical track "Queen of the North," and making a guest appearance as a lip-sync assassin on RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars.
Beyond television, Brooke Lynn Hytes maintains an active global touring schedule.
