Anson Boon

Anson Boon is an English actor who has established a career across television, film, and theater. He is widely recognized for starring as Johnny Rotten in the 2022 Disney+ biographical miniseries Pistol. His screen work also includes major roles in several feature films and streaming series.

Boon was born on February 15, 2000, in Peterborough, England. Raised in a family with a working-class London background on his mother's side and an agricultural heritage on his father's side, his father also worked as an amateur DJ. Boon grew up alongside a younger brother. To pursue an acting career, he opted not to go to drama school and instead left college early to work professionally.

His screen career began in 2014 when he made his professional debut on the children's television comedy series All at Sea. A few years later, in 2019, Boon appeared in the feature films Blackbird and 1917. His performances that year led to him being selected as a Screen International Star of Tomorrow.

Boon achieved a major milestone in 2020 when he took on his first leading role in the mystery drama film The Winter Lake, acting opposite Emma Mackey. In 2022, he gained significant exposure playing the lead role of Johnny Rotten in the Danny Boyle-directed miniseries Pistol.

Following his television breakthrough, Boon continued to build his filmography with a role in the 2023 feature Widow Clicquot. He was also cast in the 2025 movie Good Boy and joined the television series MobLand on Paramount+, which premiered in 2025.

In his personal life, Boon is a fan of the Tottenham Hotspur Premier League football club.
