Adèle Exarchopoulos

Adèle Exarchopoulos is a French actress who achieved international acclaim for her starring role in the 2013 romance feature Blue Is the Warmest Colour. For her performance, she was awarded the Palme d'Or at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival alongside her co-star and director, becoming the youngest individual ever to receive the award. Throughout her career, she has earned multiple César Awards and critical recognition for her work across film and voice acting.

Exarchopoulos was born on 22 November 1993 and raised in the 19th arrondissement of Paris, near Place des Fêtes. Her mother worked as a nurse, while her father worked as a restaurant manager, film producer, and company executive. She possesses Greek ancestry through her paternal great-grandfather.

Her acting career began after she was scouted by an agent in 2006, leading to an appearance on the police television series R.I.S, police scientifique. She made her feature film debut at the age of thirteen in the 2007 movie Boxes. Over the next several years, she appeared in a variety of cinematic projects, including Les Enfants de Timpelbach, The Round Up, Turk's Head, Chez Gino, Carré blanc, Pieces of Me, and I Used to Be Darker.

Exarchopoulos gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Adèle in Blue Is the Warmest Colour. In addition to the Palme d'Or, her work in the film earned her the César Award for Most Promising Actress, the Trophée Chopard for Female Revelation of the Year, and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Actress. Following her breakthrough, she took on roles in productions such as Les Anarchistes, The Last Face, Orphan, Racer and the Jailbird, The White Crow, and Sibyl.

In 2020, Exarchopoulos starred in the comedy Mandibles, which earned her a César Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She received another César nomination, this time for Best Actress, for her role as a former flight attendant in the 2021 comedy-drama Zero Fucks Given. Her subsequent credits included The Five Devils and Passages. In 2023, she won the César Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in All Your Faces. She also voiced the character Ennui in the 2024 Pixar animated film Inside Out 2.

In her personal life, Exarchopoulos dated actor Jérémie Laheurte from 2012 to 2015. She later had a relationship with rapper Doums, with whom she had a son in 2017 before separating in 2021. In 2023, she entered a relationship with actor François Civil. In June 2024, she joined other public figures in signing a petition urging France to officially recognize the State of Palestine.
