Ty Treadway

Tyrus Richard Treadway was born on February 11, 1967, in Trenton, New Jersey, to Richard and Mary Lou Treadway. He was raised in Trenton as the youngest of six siblings. Following high school, Treadway received a soccer scholarship and attended multiple colleges, eventually graduating with a degree in accounting.

After completing his degree, Treadway worked as an auditor and computer systems engineer for the New Jersey Office of the State Auditor. During this period, he competed in bodybuilding competitions and won the title of Mr. Natural Pennsylvania. Finding his accounting position unsatisfactory, Treadway chose to pursue modeling and acting, which led to appearances in various magazines, commercials, and theater productions.

In May 2000, Treadway was cast as Dr. Colin MacIver on the ABC soap opera One Life to Live. After his character was written off a year later, he returned to the series as the character's twin brother, Troy MacIver, appearing periodically from 2001 to 2004. He later returned to play Troy MacIver for the final episodes of One Life to Live in 2012. Additionally, Treadway portrayed Dr. Ben Walters in a recurring role on Days of Our Lives from September 2010 to February 2011.

In June 2002, Treadway began co-hosting the SOAPnet talk show Soap Talk alongside Lisa Rinna. His work on the show featured a regular segment titled "Ty Training." In 2004, Treadway and Rinna hosted a television special titled SOAPnet Reveals ABC Soap Secrets, which was commissioned by ABC to sustain daytime viewership during the 2004 Summer Olympics. Soap Talk was canceled in 2006, though it returned periodically for special broadcasts.

For their work on Soap Talk, Treadway and Rinna received a Daytime Emmy nomination for outstanding talk show host, competing against shows such as Live with Regis and Kelly, The View, and Dr. Phil, with Wayne Brady ultimately winning the award. Treadway and Rinna earned additional Daytime Emmy nominations for their hosting roles in 2005 and 2006.

Treadway expanded his hosting work to other television programs. In March 2006, he became the host of American Idol Extra, interviewing contestants, producers, vocal coaches, and celebrity guests. On April 30, 2007, he was selected to host the game show Merv Griffin's Crosswords, which he hosted until the series ended on May 16, 2008. He also briefly served as a co-host for Good Morning Texas on WFAA in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex.

In 2002, Treadway became engaged to his girlfriend, Monica, at the Eiffel Tower, and the couple married in 2003. They have two children: a daughter, Samantha Raine, born in February 2005, and a son, Ryder, born on March 7, 2006. The family relocated to Frisco, Texas, in 2009. Treadway has also worked as a real estate agent.
