Shanina Shaik

Shanina Shaik is an Australian fashion model who established a prominent international career through high-profile runway appearances, major brand campaigns, and editorial features. Born on February 11, 1991, she achieved significant industry recognition after being selected to walk in the 2011 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, becoming one of a select group of Australian models to participate in the event. Throughout her career, she has represented global retail labels and walked for top fashion houses in major international fashion weeks.

Shaik was raised in Melbourne by her mother, an Australian of Lithuanian descent whose parents arrived after World War II, and her father, a Singapore-born man of Pakistani and Saudi heritage. She began commercial modeling at age eight, appearing in promotions for Myer and a Hyundai television spot, but paused her career to focus on secondary education. After completing an accelerated academic program and graduating early, she entered the Girlfriend Model Competition at fifteen. She subsequently gained national attention as the runner-up on the Australian reality television series Make Me A Supermodel.

Her international runway debut took place during the Autumn/Winter 2009 season in New York City, where she walked in more than eight presentations, including opening for Yeohlee and featuring for labels such as Shipley & Halmos, Abaete, and Mara Hoffman. Over subsequent runway seasons, Shaik expanded her presentation catalog by modeling collections for Betsey Johnson, Catherine Malandrino, Bebe by Kardashian, Emu Australia, L.A.M.B., and Project Runway.

Alongside runway engagements, Shaik developed a substantial print and commercial resume. She signed with New York Model Management and later transitioned to NEXT Model Management and Chic Model Management. Her print work includes advertisements and campaigns for brands such as Intimissimi, Cotton On, Aéropostale, Bonds, Olay, and Bath & Body Works, along with catalogue features for Macy's, Bloomingdales, Urban Outfitters, and Free People. Additionally, she appeared in editorials for publications including Seventeen, Men's Health, and Zink Magazine, and frequently modeled during Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.

Following her 2011 Victoria's Secret debut, Shaik's profile in high fashion grew significantly. She walked for Chanel's Pre-Fall 2012 presentation in Paris and opened Jason Wu's Fall/Winter 2012 show. During that same period, she was cast in runway shows for prominent designers including Tom Ford, Stella McCartney, Oscar de la Renta, Vivienne Westwood, Diesel, and L'Wren Scott. She also featured in Vogue Australia print work and took on brand ambassadorships with Just Jeans and Australian swimwear label Seafolly.

Over the course of her career, Shaik appeared on the covers of international editions of Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, Cosmopolitan, Cleo, and Maxim. In her personal life, she was previously married to Gregory Andrews, known as DJ Ruckus, before their divorce was finalized in early 2020. She later welcomed her first child in September 2022 with partner Matthew Adesuyan, and in August 2026 announced she was expecting a second child with music executive Ryan Press. She follows an ovo-pescetarian, largely plant-based lifestyle that avoids sugary beverages.
