She first gained widespread recognition for starring as the main character in the Netflix comedy series The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia. She further expanded her public profile by portraying Flora in the second season of the fantasy television series Fate: The Winx Saga.
Born on May 22, 2002, in El Paso, Texas, Chávez grew up in San Antonio. Her parents are originally from Mexico, with her family roots tracing back to Ciudad Juárez. Her early interest in performance began at seven years old, when she enrolled in elementary school drama classes held at the school where her mother worked. She later advanced her training by taking professional acting lessons under coach Cathryn Sullivan.
Chávez launched her professional acting career at a young age by performing in local theater productions and appearing in various television commercials. By 2016, she began acting on screen in short films and independent movie projects. During that same year, she landed a minor television role playing the character Carmen in the series Day 5. In 2018, she appeared on television again to portray a young version of Kim Kardashian in the series Scandal Made Me Famous.
In 2020, Chávez secured her breakthrough role as the titular character Ashley Garcia in the Netflix original series The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia. In addition to starring in the main show, she appeared as the character in the Netflix special Game On: A Comedy Crossover Event. Although the show was canceled following its first season, she reprised her role for a Christmas special that aired in December 2020.
Chávez's career continued to grow in 2022 when she landed a main role as Flora in the second season of the Netflix series Fate: The Winx Saga. Her performances in both Fate: The Winx Saga and The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia earned her critical recognition, resulting in nominations for the Imagen Award for Best Young Actor.
In March 2023, it was announced that Chávez was cast as Mia Garcia in the Disney+ project Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Road Trip, a reboot of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Also in 2023, she appeared as Daniela Torres in the feature film The Long Game.
In 2024, Chávez took on roles playing Punguari and Shara in the Nickelodeon feature film The Casagrandes Movie. That same year, she joined the Paramount+ series Landman in a recurring role as Ariana, performing alongside co-stars Billy Bob Thornton and Demi Moore.
