Omar Rudberg

Omar Josué Rudberg, born Omar Josué González on 12 November 1998 in Anaco, Venezuela, is a Venezuelan-Swedish singer and actor. At six years old, he moved to Sweden with his mother, Wilnur, who married his Swedish stepfather, Thomas Rudberg, from whom he took his surname. In 2010, he participated in the fourth season of the Swedish talent show Talang. He gained initial recognition as a musical performer before making his acting debut as Simon Eriksson in the Netflix teen drama series Young Royals (2021–2024).

Rudberg began his professional music career in 2013 as a member of the Swedish boy band FO&O. During their four years together, the group earned eight music awards, received two Platinum and one Gold certifications, and accumulated over 80 million streams on Spotify. They competed in Melodifestivalen 2017, opened for Justin Bieber and One Direction, and sold out multiple shows before deciding to pursue separate solo projects in 2017.

In 2018, Rudberg launched his solo career with the single "Que Pasa" featuring Lamix, followed by "La Mesa" featuring Elias Hurtig. He participated in Melodifestivalen 2019 with the song "Om om och om igen," which became his first solo top 20 hit on Sweden's Sverigetopplistan chart. After releasing several additional singles, including "Dum" and "LÄPPAR," he was cast in August 2020 as Simon Eriksson in Young Royals, marking his first acting role.

Following the July 2021 premiere of Young Royals, Rudberg gained international recognition and released the EP "Omar Covers." In May 2022, he released his debut solo album, OMR, featuring the single "Mi casa su casa" and his Melodifestivalen 2022 entry "Moving Like That." Later that year, he released "Simon's Song" alongside the show's second season, appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and was cast as Dante in his debut feature film, Karusell (2023).

Throughout 2023, Rudberg released numerous singles, including "Call Me by Your Name," "Happier," and "Off My Mind." He was named Best Dressed Man of the Year at the Swedish Elle-galan and received a similar honor from Café magazine. In late 2023, he joined Jubel Agency, appeared on the television series Så mycket bättre, and released the EP Så mycket bättre 2023 – Tolkningarna.

In 2024, Rudberg gave his first solo live concert at Stockholm's Cirkus Arena, attended the 96th Academy Awards, and signed an international licensing agreement with Elektra Entertainment and Atlantic Records. He released the single "Red Light" and the EP Every Night Fantasy, winning Swedish Song of the Year and Grönan Live Act of the Year at the 2024 Rockbjörnen awards. After completing his Fall Tour 2024 across Europe and the United States, he scheduled his Every Night Fantasy Tour for 2025 and announced plans to open for Zara Larsson.
