Nina Nesbitt

Nina Lindberg Nesbitt is a Scottish singer and musician. She is best known for her top 40 hit singles "Stay Out" and "Selfies," as well as her rendition of Fleetwood Mac's "Don't Stop," which featured in a commercial for the department store John Lewis.

Nesbitt was born on July 11, 1994, in Livingston, Scotland, to a Scottish father and a Swedish mother. She grew up in Livingston and Balerno, attending Balerno Community High School before studying music at Stevenson College in Edinburgh. As a child, she competed in rhythmic gymnastics for Scotland and was part of the training team for the Commonwealth Games. She also worked as a model as a teenager. Nesbitt learned to play the guitar, piano, and flute, beginning guitar at age fifteen, and began posting song covers and original material to YouTube.

In December 2011, Nesbitt released her debut extended play, Live Take. After meeting musician Ed Sheeran and playing a song for him, she was invited to support him on his European tour and appeared in his "Drunk" music video. She subsequently released the EPs The Apple Tree, Stay Out, and Way in the World. In February 2014, Nesbitt released her debut studio album, Peroxide, which debuted at number one in Scotland. Following the release of independent EPs such as Modern Love and Life in Colour in 2016, she signed with the independent label Cooking Vinyl.

Nesbitt released her second studio album, The Sun Will Come Up, the Seasons Will Change, in February 2019. The album reached the top five on the Scottish Album Charts and was supported by headlining tours across North America, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand. Her third studio album, Älskar, was released in September 2022, also reaching the top five in Scotland and accompanied by a European tour.

In March 2024, Nesbitt launched her own record label, Apple Tree Records, alongside manager Vicky Dowdall. Through the label, she released her fourth studio album, Mountain Music, in September 2024. The record debuted at number three in Scotland and topped the UK Folk Albums Chart. In addition to her solo career, Nesbitt has co-written tracks for artists such as Jessie Ware, Olivia Holt, Perrie Edwards, Jasmine Thompson, the Shires, and IVE. Over her career, she has supported live performances for artists including Stevie Nicks, Justin Bieber, Jake Bugg, and Lewis Capaldi, and was honored with the Evolution Award and the SGW3 Independent Icon Award at the SSE Scottish Music Awards.
