Nigella Lawson

Nigella Lucy Lawson is an English food writer, television personality, and journalist. Born in London in 1960, she studied modern languages at Lady Margaret Hall, Oxford, before entering journalism. After working as a reviewer and deputy literary editor for news publications, she launched a career in food writing that established her as one of the United Kingdom's most prominent culinary figures.

Lawson published her debut cookbook, How to Eat, in 1998, which became a commercial success. Her 2000 follow-up, How to Be a Domestic Goddess, won the British Book Award for Author of the Year. In 1999, she began hosting her first television series, Nigella Bites, on Channel 4, which was accompanied by a best-selling book and earned her a Guild of Food Writers Award. Over the following decades, she hosted numerous cookery programs, including Nigella Express, Nigella's Christmas Kitchen, Nigella Feasts, and Simply Nigella, while publishing a wide collection of popular cookbooks.

In addition to writing and hosting her own television series, Lawson has appeared as a judge and guest on international food programs, including The Taste in the United States and MasterChef Australia. In 2026, Channel 4 announced that Lawson had joined the long-running competition series The Great British Bake Off as a judge alongside Paul Hollywood. Beyond broadcast television, she maintains a platform sharing recipes, culinary advice, and personal recommendation recommendations.
