Carla Hall

Carla Hall is an American chef, television personality, and author. Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, she earned an accounting degree from Howard University and worked as a CPA before pursuing modeling in Europe. During her time abroad, she developed a passion for culinary arts, which led her to attend L'Academie de Cuisine in Maryland and establish a catering career in the Washington, D.C. area.

Hall gained national public recognition in 2008 as a finalist on the fifth season of Bravo's reality competition series Top Chef, later returning for Top Chef: All-Stars. From 2011 to 2018, she co-hosted the daytime lifestyle show The Chew on ABC. She has also served as a judge, host, and contributor across multiple television networks, appearing on programs such as Food Network's Holiday Baking Championship and Halloween Baking Championships, as well as Good Morning America.

Beyond her television career, Hall is an author of cookbooks and children's literature, including Cooking with Love, Carla's Comfort Foods, Carla Hall's Soul Food, and the picture book Carla and the Christmas Cornbread. She has also contributed to culinary initiatives, including serving as a culinary ambassador for the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture's Sweet Home Cafe.
