Natalia Kills

Natalia Noemi "Teddy" Sinclair (née Cappuccini; born 15 August 1986) is an English singer-songwriter and actress. She has recorded music under various aliases, most famously as Natalia Kills, and is currently the lead vocalist of the band Cruel Youth. Outside of her own releases, she has written songs for artists including Blackpink, Angel Haze, Madonna, and Rihanna.

Sinclair was born in Bradford, West Yorkshire, to a British father of Afro-Jamaican heritage and a Uruguayan mother, and attended Bradford Girls' Grammar School. After leaving Bradford as a teenager, she spent time traveling between England, Jamaica, and Spain. She ran away from home at age 14 and shifted her focus away from acting to pursue music. In 2003, she won a BBC Radio 1 MC Battle in Leeds as Candy Rapper. Under the alias Verbalicious, she released her debut single "Don't Play Nice" in 2005. In 2007, using the name Natalia Cappuccini, she released the EP Womannequin to MySpace, where it accumulated two million plays.

Sinclair moved to Los Angeles in 2008 and was signed to the will.i.am Music Group in early 2009. Adopting the stage name Natalia Kills, she signed a triple joint venture contract with will.i.am Music Group, KonLive Distribution, and Cherrytree Records to release her debut album, Perfectionist (2011). The release spawned the gold-certified singles "Mirrors" and "Free" (featuring will.i.am). In the same year, she co-performed on LMFAO's hit single "Champagne Showers." Her second studio album, Trouble (2013), focused on her troubled childhood and performed slightly better in the United States than her debut.

In late 2014, Sinclair and her husband Willy Moon were appointed judges for season two of The X Factor New Zealand. In March 2015, both were fired from the show following public criticism of their harsh comments toward a contestant during a live broadcast. Sinclair adopted the first name Teddy in 2015 and formed the band Cruel Youth with Moon in 2016. The band released their debut EP, +30mg, in September 2016, followed by singles including "Devil in Paradise" and "Portrait of a Female" in 2018, as well as a cover of "Sunny" in 2023.

In addition to her band projects, Sinclair co-wrote Rihanna's 2015 single "Kiss It Better," which earned her a Grammy Award nomination in 2017. She collaborated with Cyndi Lauper on the song "Rats" for the animated series Central Park in 2020, and co-wrote "The Happiest Girl" for Blackpink's 2022 album Born Pink. Sinclair married singer Willy Moon on 23 May 2014. In April 2025, she revealed on social media that she had undergone brain surgery to treat trigeminal neuralgia.
