Maite Perroni

Maite Perroni Beorlegui, born March 9, 1983, is a Mexican actress, singer, songwriter, and producer. She achieved international fame in 2004 starring as Guadalupe "Lupita" Fernández in the Mexican youth telenovela Rebelde. The series spawned the Latin Grammy-nominated pop-rock group RBD, in which she served as a lead vocalist.

Born in Mexico City, Perroni was raised in Guadalajara until 1995, when her family returned to Mexico City. She has two younger brothers, Adolfo and Francisco. During her childhood, she appeared in television commercials and music videos, and participated in school arts, singing, and dancing, as well as a Disney Channel show. After high school, she completed Televisa's Centro de Educación Artística (CEA) acting course in two years before securing her debut role in Rebelde.

Following Rebelde, Perroni starred in the 2007 sitcom RBD: La Familia. She went on to secure lead roles in numerous television series, including Cuidado con el ángel, Mi Pecado, Triunfo del Amor, Cachito de Cielo, La Gata, Antes muerta que Lichita, and Papá a toda madre. Recognized as "The New Queen of Telenovelas" by Univision and People en Español, her acting career expanded into streaming with the Netflix series Dark Desire and Triada, where she portrayed triplets. She also signed an overall deal with Pantaya.

Perroni has expanded her career into voice acting, voicing the Tooth Fairy in the Latin American Spanish dub of Rise of the Guardians, Di in the Huevos film franchise, and Maite Terranova in Selección Canina. Her public popularity resulted in an iconic Barbie doll created in her likeness in 2007, making her one of the first Latin women honored with one.

As a recording artist with RBD, Perroni toured internationally and sold millions of records worldwide. In 2012, she signed with Warner Music Group to launch a solo music career. Her debut solo album, Eclipse de Luna (2013), reached number three on the Mexican AMPROFON chart and number two on the Billboard Latin Pop Albums chart. She followed with singles such as Tu y Yo, Vas A Querer Volver, Todo lo que soy, and Adicta.

Perroni has endorsed brands including NYX Cosmetics, Proactiv, Pepsi, and Pantene, and launched her fashion line, Colección Maite Perroni, in 2014. She has won several TVyNovelas and Premios Juventud awards, and serves as an ambassador for the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF). She married producer Andrés Tovar in October 2022, and their daughter, Lía, was born in May 2023.
