Africa Zavala

África Ivonne Lechuga Zavala is a Mexican actress born on August 12, 1985, in Mexico City. She graduated from the Centro de Educación Artística (CEA) of Televisa before embarking on a career in television.

She began her professional acting career at the age of 21 when she starred in the telenovela Peregrina alongside Eduardo Capetillo. In 2006, she appeared in the telenovela Código postal, sharing the screen with José Ron and Jessica Coch.

Zavala continued to secure key roles throughout the late 2000s. In 2008, she portrayed Elsa Maldonado San Román, the cousin of the main character, in the telenovela Cuidado con el ángel alongside Maite Perroni. The following year, in 2009, she traveled to Argentina to record the telenovela Los Exitosos Pérez, starring alongside Ludwika Paleta and Jaime Camil.

In 2010, Zavala was chosen as one of the six lead figures in the telenovela Para Volver a amar, appearing alongside Rebecca Jones, Nailea Norvind, Alejandra Barros, Sophie Alexander, and Zaide Silvia Gutiérrez. She followed this in 2011 by starring in the telenovela Amorcito Corazón with Elizabeth Álvarez, Diego Olivera, and Daniel Arenas.

Producer José Alberto Castro confirmed in July 2012 that Zavala would star in his telenovela Corona de lágrimas alongside Victoria Ruffo. She collaborated with Castro and Ruffo again in the 2014 telenovela La malquerida, which also featured Ariadne Díaz and Alberto Estrella. In 2015, Zavala starred in the telenovela Amores con trampa alongside Itatí Cantoral, Eduardo Yáñez, and Ernesto Laguardia.
