Kenjiro Tsuda

Kenjiro Tsuda, born June 11, 1971, is a Japanese actor, voice actor, and film director who is represented by the talent agency ANDSTIR. He spent his early childhood living in Jakarta until the age of seven. He later attended Meiji University, where he pursued literature studies with a concentration in theater. Driven by an early desire to become a movie director and a growing fascination with performance, he enrolled in and completed a non-degree program at the En Theater Research Institute.

After finishing his studies at a trading school, Tsuda joined a theater agency to participate in auditions. He secured a defining role in the 1995 anime production H2, which served as a major turning point in his life. Before landing this position, he endured severe economic hardship, at times finding it difficult to afford even a single loaf of bread. Throughout his youth and academic years, he developed an extensive passion for watching and creating movies, participating in a student film club and exploring various artistic and non-genre films.

Over the course of his career, Tsuda expanded his work across voice acting, live-action television, and directing. In 2017, he took over several voice roles formerly performed by Keiji Fujiwara, notably in Attack on Titan and Space Battleship Yamato 2202: Warriors of Love. He made his debut as a movie director on February 2, 2019, with the release of Documentertainment AD-LIVE. Later, in November 2020, he participated in Wowow's 30th-anniversary project Actor's Short Film, directing and starring in the short feature GET SET GO alongside Shunsuke Daito and Ryo Ryusei, which was distributed starting January 13, 2021.

Tsuda's television career includes a cameo appearance in the morning drama Yell, followed by acclaimed roles in the 2021 series Dearest and 2023 productions such as Reversal Orchestra and Ōoku: The Inner Chambers. He was also cast as the voice of Figarland Shamrock for One Piece, announced via a promotional video for Volume 113. In 2023, he published a photo book that reached second place on the sales charts, an unusual ranking for a voice actor over fifty. In November 2025, Tsuda filed a lawsuit in Tokyo against TikTok regarding unauthorized AI-generated voice usage, asserting his publicity rights, with legal proceedings remaining active as of May 2026.

In his personal life, Tsuda is married to a non-celebrity woman he met during his early years as a stage performer, and the couple has two children. He intentionally kept his marriage secret for many years to protect his family and to emulate actors who maintained privacy regarding their personal lives. However, in July 2020, after being informed that the weekly magazine Shūkanshi planned to publish an article about his personal life, he publicly confirmed his marital status via Instagram.
