K. D. Aubert

Karen Denise Aubert, known professionally as K. D. Aubert, is an American actress and fashion model. In addition to her work in film, television, and modeling, she owns her own record label, Roseland.

Aubert was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on December 6, 1978. She describes her background as African-American with a dash of Creole. She grew up in Riverside and Los Angeles, California. Aubert attended San Diego State University, where she played on the Aztec softball team.

Her career began after she was discovered while working behind the make-up counter at Macy's. As a fashion model, she has worked with brands such as Victoria's Secret, Noxzema, Frederick's of Hollywood, and Escada, among others. Aubert gained further visibility as one of the four original Fantanas, a group of female spokesmodels featured in television commercials for the soft drink Fanta, in which she portrayed the Strawberry Fanta. As the Strawberry Fantana, she was featured alongside her fellow Fantanas in the Maxim magazine online girl gallery, and she was included in the Maxim Hot 100 Women list in 2003 and 2004, ranking at #91 and #97, respectively.

Aubert transitioned into television and film, co-hosting MTV's Kidnapped and appearing in numerous music videos and feature films. Her major screen break arrived when she was cast as Donna in Friday After Next, directed by Marcus Raboy and produced by Ice Cube. Following this role, she appeared in various films, playing two roles in Hollywood Homicide, Little Red Riding Hood in DysEnchanted alongside Jim Belushi, Giselle in Soul Plane, and Eliza in Frankenfish.

Her film filmography continued with roles such as Cherise in the 2005 movie In the Mix, Julie the Waitress in the 2007 film The Grand, and April May in the 2008 production Surfer, Dude. For her performance in the film Turning Point, Aubert was nominated for and won an Africa Movie Academy Award in 2013, with the ensemble cast also earning multiple honors at the 9th Africa Movie Academy Awards. Later projects include her casting in the 2018 film She Ball, directed by Nick Cannon.

Throughout her career, Aubert has also maintained a steady presence in commercial advertising. She has appeared in commercials for Old Spice alongside Greg Jennings of the Green Bay Packers, as well as campaigns for Bacardi, Miller Lite, Go Daddy, Beats By Dr. Dre, Cola, and a Nespresso commercial featuring George Clooney.
