Johnny Bananas

John Amadeus Devenanzio, professionally recognized as Johnny Bananas, is an American reality television personality. He is most prominent for his long-running involvement as a contestant on the MTV reality competition series The Challenge.

Devenanzio was born on June 22, 1982. He made his debut on television in 2006 when he appeared as a cast member on the seventeenth season of The Real World.

Following his television debut, Devenanzio became a regular competitor on The Challenge, ultimately participating in twenty-one seasons, which stands as a record for the series. Beyond the main flagship show, his career expanded to various spin-off programs, including Champs vs. Pros, Champs vs. Stars, World Championship, and the second season of The Challenge: USA. Outside of reality competition shows, Devenanzio transitioned into hosting, serving as the presenter for the NBC program 1st Look from 2018 through 2023.

Over the course of his television career, Devenanzio achieved significant distinction as the most successful contestant in the history of The Challenge. By 2022, he had secured seven season victories, the highest total recorded on the show. His competitive achievements generated $1,184,720 in cumulative prize earnings, placing him second overall among all participants on the series.

His tenure on reality television includes several widely discussed events. Notably, during the Cutthroat season, he was physically carried on the back of fellow contestant Chris "CT" Tamburello during an elimination match. Later, in Rivals III, Devenanzio chose to retain the entire $275,000 grand prize himself rather than sharing it with his partner, Sarah Rice, following an earlier season where she had nominated him for an elimination round.

In his personal life, Devenanzio was previously in a relationship with Olympic champion Hannah Teter. He later dated his Challenge teammate and Big Brother: Over the Top winner Morgan Willett, whom he met after production concluded on the thirty-third season of The Challenge. The pair remained together until September 2021, when they separated following allegations from Willett regarding infidelity.
