Janella Salvador

Janella Maxine Desiderio Salvador is a Filipino actress and singer born on March 30, 1998. She made her acting debut in the morning drama series Be Careful with My Heart and went on to star in television series and films such as Oh My G!, Born for You, So Connected, The Killer Bride, Darna, and Under Parallel Skies. Her achievements include three PMPC Star Awards, a FAMAS Award, and the Princess of Philippine Television title.

Salvador was born in Cebu and raised in San Juan, Metro Manila. She is the daughter of West End musical actress Jenine Desiderio and songwriter Juan Miguel "JM" Salvador, an Awit Award recipient and former lead singer of Rage Band. She has a half-brother and two step-siblings. Between 2008 and 2009, she represented the Philippines at a world trade fair in Seoul, Korea. She also performed on stage at Meralco Theater, starring in the school musical Paul! Paul! Following an appearance on Sa Pula Sa Puti, she signed with managers Manny Valera and Star Magic's Johnny Manahan.

Salvador made her television acting debut in 2012 as Nikki Grace Lim in Be Careful With My Heart, a role she played until 2014. The role earned her newcomer awards and led to an endorsement with Garnier skin care. She was launched in Star Magic Circle 2013 and signed movie contracts with Regal Entertainment and Star Cinema in 2014.

In 2015, Salvador starred in her first lead TV role in Oh My G! and released a certified platinum debut album. She interpreted the theme song "Happily Ever After" for Hong Kong Disneyland's 10th anniversary and made her film debut in Haunted Mansion, winning New Actress of the Year. In 2016, she starred in Born for You, recorded her first Japanese-language songs, and performed the Philippine version of "How Far I'll Go" for Disney's Moana. She held her first solo concert, Super Janella, in 2017, appeared in Bloody Crayons, and won awards at Himig Handog.

Salvador headlined the films My Fairy Tail Love Story and So Connected in 2018. Her lead role in the 2019 gothic thriller The Killer Bride earned her the Princess of Philippine Television award. She subsequently starred in the film The Heiress, appeared in Maalaala Mo Kaya in 2020, and portrayed supervillain Valentina in Darna from 2022 to 2023. Her performance in the 2023 film Mallari garnered a Metro Manila Film Festival Best Supporting Actress nomination.

In 2024, Salvador renewed her ABS-CBN contract, released the music video Hey You, and starred in Under Parallel Skies. In 2025, she acted in the independent films Fleeting and Open Endings, winning a shared Cinemalaya Award for Best Group Ensemble. She later starred in the series What Lies Beneath, joined the Philippine-Korean variety show Kumusta, and was cast in the adaptation of The Good Doctor.

Salvador was previously in a relationship with actor Markus Paterson, with whom she has a son, Jude, born in 2020. As of 2026, she is in a relationship with actress Klea Pineda.
