Jacki R. Chan

Jaclyn Roxanne Chan, also known as Jacki R. Chan or Jacki Chan, is an American former actress and model. Born on December 2, 1980, in San Francisco, California, she was raised in Daly City as the oldest of three siblings. She is of Chinese descent with British and Portuguese ancestry, and she is the niece of Hollywood stuntman Darryl Chan. Beyond her modeling and screen work, she was formerly signed under a Universal Music Group label as an experienced drummer, performing in films, commercials, television spots, and music videos.

Chan developed an interest in the performing arts at an early age, participating in various after-school programs. She attended Westmoor High School in Daly City, where she actively engaged in drama and music. During high school, she held major roles in plays, joined the International Thespian Society, served as the only female drummer and percussionist in the school's jazz and symphonic bands, and served as a lead on the drill and streetdancing team. She graduated as the salutatorian of her class in 1998 and was voted most dramatic.

She pursued higher education at San Francisco State University, participating in over 20 drama and theatre programs. As a member of the student-led Brown Bag Theatre Company, she took major roles in theatrical productions such as The Balcony and M. Butterfly. Frequently named to the Dean's List, Chan graduated cum laude in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts in drama. She returned as a post-graduate student in 2003 to complete a minor in business.

Following college, Chan worked as one of the initial Hooters Girls at the franchise's Fisherman's Wharf location in San Francisco, later serving as a key trainer at the Dublin, California branch. Her appearance in franchise pictorials, including the Official 2005 Swimsuit Calendar, helped launch her career in print modeling. She subsequently earned Screen Actors Guild certification through a brief appearance in the film Rent.

Chan relocated to Los Angeles to pursue acting full-time while also working in stunt performance, hosting, and print ads. Her television and film credits include appearances on The Sopranos and Freddie, as well as roles in the movie Waist Deep. She also worked as a stunt player in the 2006 action film Crank.

In 2009, Chan enrolled at Whittier Law School in Costa Mesa, Orange County, California. She graduated in 2012 with a Juris Doctor degree, holding a dual concentration in trial advocacy and criminal law. Following her studies, she became a licensed attorney and a member in good standing of the State Bar of California.
