Hyolyn

Kim Hyo-jung, better known by her stage name Hyolyn, is a South Korean singer and songwriter born on December 11, 1990. She is widely recognized as a former member and leader of the South Korean girl group Sistar, as well as its sub-unit Sistar19. Currently, she manages her career under Bridʒ, a production company and music label that she founded herself.

Hyolyn was born in Incheon, South Korea, to a father who served as a Marine Corps officer. Born prematurely, her infancy was complicated by biliary atresia, leading to multiple surgeries, intussuseption, and the loss of her gallbladder. Growing up alongside her younger sister, Kim Hye-jung, she developed a passion for singing and dancing at an early age. After placing first in an audition for JYP Entertainment, her initial project group debut was canceled, leading her to join Starship Entertainment.

On June 3, 2010, Hyolyn officially debuted as a member and leader of Sistar on KBS's Music Bank with the single "Push Push." In 2011, she formed the sub-group Sistar19 alongside bandmate Bora, releasing the successful single "Ma Boy" followed by their 2013 EP, Gone Not Around Any Longer. Hyolyn made her acting debut in 2012 starring as Nana in the KBS drama Dream High Season 2, and she subsequently recorded several television series soundtracks.

Hyolyn released her debut solo studio album, Love & Hate, on November 26, 2013. Supported by the title tracks "Lonely" and "One Way Love," the album topped major South Korean digital music charts. In late 2013, she shared the stage with Stevie Wonder at the Mnet Asian Music Awards and performed the Korean version of "Let It Go" for Disney's Frozen. Over the following years, she gained further public exposure on music competition shows, including I Am a Singer, Unpretty Rapstar Season 2, King of Mask Singer, and Duet Song Festival, before releasing her first solo EP, It's Me, in November 2016.

Following Sistar's disbandment in May 2017, Hyolyn left Starship Entertainment and announced the establishment of her independent label, Bridʒ, in November 2017. In 2018, she launched a three-part single project featuring the tracks "To Do List," "Dally," and "See Sea." She subsequently launched her first solo world tour, titled "TRUE," in May 2019.

Hyolyn released her second EP, Say My Name, in August 2020, followed by her third EP, Ice, in July 2022. She also competed on the reality television show Queendom Season 2 in 2022 and released the EP OriginaLyn in July 2026. Throughout her career, she has represented numerous brands as an endorsement model, including Samsung, Coca-Cola, Nike, Adidas, Missha, Puma, and Budweiser.
