Gabriel Aubry

Gabriel Aubry is a Canadian model born on August 30, 1976. He is recognized for his extensive work in the fashion industry and his high-profile commercial campaigns.

Aubry was born in Montreal, Quebec, to French-Canadian parents. He grew up as one of nine siblings.

Throughout his modeling career, Aubry has represented numerous major fashion houses and brands, including Tommy Hilfiger, Gianni Versace, Calvin Klein, DKNY, Valentino, Trussardi, Nautica, Exte, Joop, Massimo Dutti, and Next. He gained representation with agencies such as Wilhelmina Models in New York City and Beatrice Models in Milan, Italy.

Aubry achieved several prominent milestones in the modeling industry. He set a record as the only male model ever to appear on the cover of L'Uomo Vogue while simultaneously featuring in four separate designers' campaigns within the same issue. In early 2008, he appeared in a Macy's commercial alongside Mariah Carey, Martha Stewart, Donald Trump, and Carlos Santana as part of an exclusivity contract with Calvin Klein. His work earned him a spot on People Magazine's "Most Beautiful People List," and by 2012, he was ranked among the top-earning male models in the industry.

Beyond modeling, Aubry owned a restaurant called Cafe Fuego, situated in the East Village of Manhattan. In 2008, he produced and released an album titled Cafe Fuego Vol. 1, designed to reflect the atmosphere of his restaurant. The album featured a fusion of soulful sounds, world music, bossa-nova grooves, and Latin and Cuban influences, with Aubry contributing guitar performances on several tracks.

Aubry began dating American actress Halle Berry in November 2005 after meeting at a Versace photoshoot. The couple had a daughter together in March 2008 before announcing their separation in April 2010. Following the breakup, the former couple engaged in a publicized legal dispute regarding joint custody and proposed relocation plans to France involving Berry's then-fiancé, Olivier Martinez. After legal proceedings and temporary protective orders in November 2012, Berry's lawyer announced an amicable custody agreement. In June 2014, a Superior Court ruling ordered Berry to pay Aubry $16,000 per month in child support, alongside retroactive payments and legal fees.
