Dree Hemingway

Dree Louise Crisman Hemingway is an American fashion model and actress born on December 4, 1987. She is recognized for her appearances in high-profile fashion campaigns and her performances in independent films. She first gained major attention as an actress by taking the lead role in the 2012 feature film Starlet, directed by Sean Baker.

Hemingway was born in Sun Valley, Idaho, to actress Mariel Hemingway and Stephen Crisman. She is the niece of model and actress Margaux Hemingway and the great-granddaughter of author Ernest Hemingway on her mother's side. Raised in Ketchum, Idaho, she attended Ernest Hemingway Elementary School before moving to California, where she lived in Westlake Village. She attended Oaks Christian High School for two and a half years before leaving to pursue modeling. In 2003, she was presented at the Bal des débutantes in Paris, France.

Her modeling career launched in March 2009 when she debuted at the Givenchy fall/winter runway show in Paris. Soon after, she walked for the Calvin Klein resort show in New York and opened the Topshop spring/summer 2010 show in London. In 2010, she became the face of Gianfranco Ferré's advertising campaign and fronted the campaign for the Salvatore Ferragamo perfume Attimo. Over her career, she has walked for fashion houses including Chanel, Karl Lagerfeld, Shiatzy Chen, House of Holland, Giles, and Rue du Mail.

Hemingway has fronted campaigns for major brands such as Gucci, Jean Paul Gaultier, Valentino, Chanel, Paco Rabanne, H&M, and A.Y. Not Dead. She has appeared on covers and in editorials for magazines including Harper's Bazaar, i-D, V, W, Numéro, and various national editions of Vogue. Additionally, she was featured as the Playboy Playmate in the March 2016 issue of Playboy, which marked the publication's first non-nude issue.

Hemingway transitioned into acting by appearing primarily in independent cinema. Following her lead performance in Starlet (2012), she and the film's ensemble cast received the Robert Altman Award at the Independent Spirit Awards. She subsequently appeared in supporting roles in Listen Up Philip (2014) and While We're Young (2014), and took on lead roles in The People Garden and Live Cargo, the latter premiereing at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival.

In 2017, Hemingway featured in Michelle Morgan's film It Happened in L.A., which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. That same year, she also appeared in Russell Harbaugh's Love After Love, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
