Dan Levy

Daniel Joseph Levy is a Canadian actor, writer, producer, and director. Born on August 9, 1983, in Toronto, Ontario, he is the son of actor Eugene Levy and producer Deborah Divine. Levy began his career in broadcasting as a television host for MTV Canada, where he gained early national prominence co-hosting programs such as MTV Live and The After Show.

Levy achieved international critical acclaim as the co-creator, showrunner, executive producer, writer, and co-star of the sitcom Schitt's Creek, which ran from 2015 to 2020. For his work on the series' final season, he became the first person to win Primetime Emmy Awards in all four major comedy discipline categories—acting, writing, directing, and producing—in a single year. The production received numerous accolades, including multiple Canadian Screen Awards and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

Following the conclusion of Schitt's Creek, Levy expanded his work in film and television through major production deals. He co-hosted early seasons of The Great Canadian Baking Show, made guest appearances in series such as Sex Education, and made his feature directorial debut with the 2023 drama film Good Grief, which he also wrote and produced. Levy continues to develop projects across television and film while remaining an advocate for authentic LGBTQ+ representation in media.
